GOFORWILD Garden Wall/Floor Mount Hose Reel

Model: G07212

Introduction

The GOFORWILD Garden Wall/Floor Mount Hose Reel (Model G07212) is designed to provide a convenient and organized solution for storing your garden hose. This heavy-duty reel can accommodate up to 200 feet of 5/8-inch hose and offers versatile installation options, allowing it to be mounted on a wall or used as a freestanding floor unit. Please read this manual thoroughly before assembly, installation, and operation to ensure safe and efficient use.

Safety Information

  • Always ensure the hose reel is securely mounted or placed on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping or accidental movement.
  • Do not exceed the recommended hose capacity of 200 feet of 5/8-inch garden hose. Overloading can damage the reel and pose a safety risk.
  • Ensure all water connections (leader hose to faucet, garden hose to leader hose) are tight and free of leaks before turning on the water supply. Use Teflon tape on threaded connections if necessary to prevent leaks.
  • Keep children and pets away from the hose reel during operation, especially when winding or unwinding the hose, to prevent entanglement or injury.
  • Inspect the hose reel and all connections regularly for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace damaged parts immediately.
  • When moving the floor-mounted unit, ensure the hose is fully unwound or securely fastened to prevent accidental unspooling.

Setup

1. General Assembly

  1. Attach the rocker handle to the side of the hose reel drum. Ensure it is securely tightened using the provided Allen key.

2. Wall Mount Installation

This hose reel can be securely mounted to a wall, ideally on wood studs or concrete surfaces.

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable wall location, preferably on a sturdy structure like wood studs or a concrete wall, near your water source.
  2. Mark Drill Points: Hold the hose reel frame against the wall at the desired height and use a pencil to mark the four mounting holes. Ensure the marks are level.
  3. Drill Pilot Holes:
    • For wood studs: Drill pilot holes slightly smaller than the ST6X50 Lag Bolts.
    • For concrete walls: Drill holes appropriate for the Concrete Wall Anchors, then insert the anchors.
  4. Secure Reel: Align the hose reel frame with the drilled holes. Use the provided ST6X50 Lag Bolts for wood studs or appropriate screws with the Concrete Wall Anchors for concrete walls to securely fasten the reel to the wall. Tighten all bolts firmly.

The hose reel can also be used as a freestanding unit on a flat surface.

  1. Position Reel: Place the hose reel on a stable, level surface in your garden or patio.
  2. Ensure Stability: The unit comes with non-skid rubber boots on its feet to prevent sliding.
  3. Optional Ground Stakes: For added stability on soft ground (e.g., lawn), insert the four ground stakes through the designated holes in the base of the reel and firmly push them into the ground.

Operating Instructions

  1. Connect Leader Hose: Attach one end of the included leader hose to the brass connector on the side of the hose reel. Securely tighten the connection.
  2. Connect to Water Source: Attach the other end of the leader hose to your outdoor faucet. Ensure this connection is also tight to prevent leaks.
  3. Connect Garden Hose: Attach your garden hose (not included) to the remaining connector on the hose reel drum.
  4. Wind Hose: Begin winding your garden hose onto the reel by turning the rocker handle. Guide the hose evenly across the drum to prevent tangles and ensure maximum capacity. The rubber grip handle provides comfortable operation.
  5. Unwind Hose: To use the hose, simply pull it from the reel. The reel will rotate freely. For controlled unwinding, you can gently hold the handle.
  6. After Use: After each use, turn off the water supply at the faucet, relieve pressure from the hose, and then wind the hose back onto the reel using the rocker handle.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe down the hose reel with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
  • Connection Checks: Regularly inspect all hose connections for tightness and signs of wear. Replace washers or use Teflon tape as needed to prevent leaks.
  • Hose Inspection: Check your garden hose for kinks, cracks, or damage before winding it onto the reel. Repair or replace damaged hoses to ensure proper function.
  • Winterization: Before freezing temperatures, disconnect the hose reel from the water source, drain all water from the hoses and the reel, and store the unit in a protected area to prevent freeze damage.
