1. Introduction

The LIBODD HT632 is a versatile digital moisture meter designed for accurate and rapid measurement of moisture content in various materials, including wood, concrete, wall, paper, and carton. It features a clear digital display, multiple material selection modes, and functions such as data hold, maximum/minimum value recording, and average calculation. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your device.

2. Safety Information

  • Read this instruction manual thoroughly before operating the device.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the meter. Repairs should only be performed by qualified personnel.

  • Handle the test pins with care as they are sharp. Keep out of reach of children.

3. Product Overview and Parts Identification

  1. Test Pins: Used to penetrate the material for moisture measurement.
  2. Cap: Protects the test pins when not in use and contains a calibration point.
  3. Calibration Point: Located inside the cap, used for self-calibration.
  4. LCD Display: Shows moisture readings, temperature, relative humidity, and various indicators.
  5. H (Data Hold) Button: Freezes the current reading on the display.
  6. REC (Record) Button: Cycles through Maximum and Minimum recorded values.
  7. AVG (Average) Button: Calculates and displays the average of multiple measurements.
  8. M (Material Selection) Button: Selects the material type for measurement (e.g., Wood, Concrete, Paper).
  9. °C/°F Button: Toggles between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
  10. Power Button: Turns the device ON or OFF.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The HT632 requires three (3) 1.5V AAA batteries. To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert three 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

A low battery indicator will appear on the display when batteries need replacement.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To turn ON: Press the Power Button (Power button icon).
  • To turn OFF: Press and hold the Power Button for approximately 2 seconds. The device also features an auto power-off function to conserve battery life after a period of inactivity.

5.2 Material Selection

The HT632 supports 7 types of materials. To select the appropriate material type for your measurement:

  • Press the M (Material Selection) Button repeatedly to cycle through the available material types (e.g., different wood densities, concrete, paper, carton). The selected material type will be indicated on the LCD display.

5.3 Taking a Measurement

To obtain an accurate moisture reading:

  1. Remove the protective cap from the test pins.
  2. Carefully insert the test pins into the material you wish to measure. Ensure the pins penetrate sufficiently to get a stable reading.
  3. Read the moisture content percentage displayed on the LCD.
  4. After measurement, gently withdraw the pins and replace the protective cap.

5.4 Data Hold (H)

  • Press the H Button to freeze the current reading on the display. The 'H' indicator will appear.
  • Press the H Button again to release the hold function and resume live readings.

5.5 Max/Min/Average (REC/AVG)

  • Press the REC Button to display the maximum recorded moisture value. Press again for the minimum value.
  • Press the AVG Button to calculate and display the average of multiple measurements taken.

5.6 Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)

  • Press the °C/°F Button to switch the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

6. Calibration

The HT632 features a calibration point within its protective cap to ensure accuracy. To perform a quick check or calibration:

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Carefully insert the test pins into the designated calibration points inside the protective cap.
  3. The display should show a specific reference value (e.g., 20.5%RH as indicated on the cap in Image 3.1). If the reading deviates significantly, refer to the troubleshooting section or contact support.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the test pins are clean and free of debris after each use.

7.2 Storage

  • Always replace the protective cap over the test pins when storing the device.
  • Store the meter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period (e.g., more than one month) to prevent battery leakage and damage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Display / Device Not Turning On: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace with fresh AAA batteries if necessary.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the correct material type is selected. Verify test pins are fully inserted into the material. Perform a calibration check using the cap's calibration point.
  • Low Battery Indicator: Replace all three 1.5V AAA batteries promptly.
  • Display Flickering: This may indicate low battery power or an unstable connection. Replace batteries.
