4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Wiring Diagram
This upgraded kit requires only 3 wires from the wall switch to control the ceiling fan and lights (AC Load IN, AC Load OUT, and Ground line). Refer to the diagram below for proper wiring connections.

4.2 DIP Switch Setting
To ensure proper communication between the remote, wall switch, and receiver, the DIP switch settings on all three components must match. The kit offers 16 different code frequencies to prevent interference with other devices. The factory setting is typically all 'up' (ON), but you can adjust these as needed.

4.3 Compatibility
This kit is compatible with most downrod style AC fans. It is not recommended for use with hugger style fans, wall-mounted fans, or exhaust-type fans. It supports incandescent light bulbs and some dimmable LED lamps. Other LED lamps and CFL lamps may only support ON/OFF functionality without dimming. This fan light switch does NOT support Wi-Fi.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the remote and wall switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: The remote control requires a 9V battery. Replace the battery when the remote's range decreases or it stops responding.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan or Light not responding | No power to the unit; DIP switches not matched; Remote battery low/dead. | Check circuit breaker; Ensure DIP switches on remote, wall switch, and receiver match; Replace remote battery. |
| Interference with other fans | DIP switch code is the same as another nearby fan. | Change the DIP switch settings on the affected units to a unique combination. |
| Light does not dim | Incompatible light bulb (non-dimmable LED or CFL). | Ensure you are using incandescent or dimmable LED bulbs. |
| Fan speed seems lower than expected | Fan's internal settings or motor type. | Ensure the fan's pull chain (if any) is set to its highest speed before using the remote/wall switch. This kit is designed for AC motors. |
