1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Sunmerit Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control Switch Kit. This kit is designed to provide convenient control over your ceiling fan's speed and light functions, including dimming, from both a wall-mounted switch and a handheld remote. It features an upgraded 3-wire connection for simplified installation.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Wiring Diagram

This upgraded kit requires only 3 wires from the wall switch to control the ceiling fan and lights (AC Load IN, AC Load OUT, and Ground line). Refer to the diagram below for proper wiring connections.

4.2 DIP Switch Setting

To ensure proper communication between the remote, wall switch, and receiver, the DIP switch settings on all three components must match. The kit offers 16 different code frequencies to prevent interference with other devices. The factory setting is typically all 'up' (ON), but you can adjust these as needed.

4.3 Compatibility

This kit is compatible with most downrod style AC fans. It is not recommended for use with hugger style fans, wall-mounted fans, or exhaust-type fans. It supports incandescent light bulbs and some dimmable LED lamps. Other LED lamps and CFL lamps may only support ON/OFF functionality without dimming. This fan light switch does NOT support Wi-Fi.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Wall Switch Control

The wall switch provides direct control over your fan and light. It features buttons for fan ON/OFF, fan speed adjustment (+/-), and light ON/OFF/Dimming. Indicator lights show the current fan speed setting.

5.2 Remote Control

The handheld remote offers convenient control from anywhere in the room. It includes buttons for Low, Medium, High fan speeds, Fan OFF, Light ON/OFF, and a timer function (1H, 2H, 4H, 8H).

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the remote and wall switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: The remote control requires a 9V battery. Replace the battery when the remote's range decreases or it stops responding.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear.
