Important Safety Instructions

  • Read all instructions before using the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for storage or return if necessary.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash all purple clay pots, lids, and the steaming rack with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main electric base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the electric base in water.
  3. Placement: Place the electric base unit on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and direct heat. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  4. Assembly:
    • Place the steaming rack inside the main electric base unit.
    • Pour water into the main electric base unit, ensuring it reaches the recommended fill line (refer to markings inside the unit). Do not overfill.
    • Place either the large 4.5L purple clay pot or the four 0.5L small purple clay pots onto the steaming rack.

Operating Instructions

The Bear Purple Clay Steamer Set offers 7 nourishing menus for various cooking needs. The control panel allows for easy selection and adjustment.

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place your desired ingredients into the purple clay pot(s). For the large 4.5L pot, it is suitable for 2-6 people.
  2. Place Pot(s): Carefully place the filled purple clay pot(s) onto the steaming rack inside the main electric base unit.
  3. Add Water: Ensure the water level in the main electric base unit is between the minimum and maximum fill lines. This water creates the steam for cooking.
  4. Cover: Place the appropriate lid (glass or ceramic) securely on top of the pot(s).
  5. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The display on the control panel will illuminate.
  6. Select Function: Use the control panel buttons to select your desired cooking function from the 7 available menus. The display will show the default cooking time for the selected function.
  7. Adjust Time (Optional): If needed, use the time adjustment buttons (e.g., '+' and '-') to modify the cooking duration.
  8. Start Cooking: Press the 'Start' or 'Power' button to begin the cooking process. The appliance will automatically maintain the correct temperature and steam level.
  9. Monitoring: The display will show the remaining cooking time. Avoid opening the lid frequently to maintain consistent cooking temperature.
  10. Completion: Once cooking is complete, the appliance may beep and switch to a 'Keep Warm' mode (if available).
  11. Serve: Carefully remove the lid, using oven mitts as steam will be hot. Use caution when handling the hot purple clay pot(s).

Maintenance and Care

Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your purple clay steamer set.

  • Cleaning Pots and Lids: All purple clay pots and lids are made of natural ceramic and are Hand Wash Only. Use a soft sponge and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storage. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the ceramic surface.
  • Not Dishwasher Safe: The purple clay pots and lids are not dishwasher safe. Dishwasher detergents and high temperatures can damage the ceramic.
  • Cleaning Electric Base: Ensure the electric base unit is unplugged and completely cooled before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the electric base in water or any other liquid.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits may accumulate in the water reservoir of the electric base. To descale, fill the reservoir with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Run the appliance on a short cycle without any food pots. After the cycle, discard the solution, rinse the reservoir thoroughly with clean water, and wipe dry.
  • Storage: Store the appliance and its components in a clean, dry place when not in use. Ensure all parts are dry to prevent mold or mildew.
  • Not Oven Safe: The purple clay pots are not oven safe. Do not place them in a conventional oven or microwave.

Troubleshooting
