Figure 4.1: Wiring Diagram
This diagram illustrates the connection points for the common power supply, emergency power supply, and the load. Ensure correct polarity and secure connections for safe operation.

4.1 Wiring Connections

  1. Common Power Supply (N): Connect the primary power source to the terminals labeled "N" on the left side of the switch.
  2. Backup Power Supply (R): Connect the secondary or emergency power source to the terminals labeled "R" on the right side of the switch.
  3. Load: Connect the electrical load (devices or circuits to be powered) to the output terminals at the bottom of the switch, labeled "Load".
  4. Control Wiring: Ensure the small control wires are correctly connected as indicated in the diagram for automatic operation.

After all connections are made, double-check for any loose wires or incorrect wiring before restoring power.

5. Operating Instructions

The CIZVVEOC GCQ2-63/2P transfer switch offers both automatic and manual operation modes.

5.1 Automatic Mode

To operate the switch in automatic mode, ensure the selector handle is set to the "Auto" position. In this mode, the switch will automatically detect the presence of the primary power source. If the primary power fails, the switch will automatically transfer the load to the backup power source within approximately 2 seconds. When the primary power is restored, the switch will automatically transfer the load back to the primary source.

  • Indicator Display: The integrated indicator lights will show which power source is currently active.

5.2 Manual Mode

The switch can be manually operated for testing or specific scenarios. To switch manually, move the selector handle to the "Manual" position. Then, physically move the handle to select either the "Normal Power" or "Backup Power" position. Always exercise caution when operating in manual mode and ensure power is managed safely.

CAUTION: Do not force the manual selector handle. Ensure the switch is in the "Manual" position before attempting to change the power source manually.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and reliable operation of your automatic transfer switch.

  • Periodic Inspection: Visually inspect the switch and its connections at least once a year for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage.
  • Cleaning: Keep the switch free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Connection Check: Periodically verify that all electrical connections remain tight and secure.
  • Functionality Test: If safe to do so, periodically test the automatic transfer function by simulating a primary power failure (e.g., by temporarily disconnecting the primary power source, if your setup allows for safe testing).

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your CIZVVEOC GCQ2-63/2P Automatic Transfer Switch, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power to Load:
    • Check if both primary and backup power sources are active.
    • Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the diagram.
    • Ensure the switch is not in a manual position that prevents automatic transfer.
  • Failure to Transfer Automatically:
    • Confirm the selector handle is firmly in the "Auto" position.
    • Check for any obstructions or debris preventing the internal mechanism from moving.
    • Ensure the control wiring is intact and correctly connected.
  • Overheating:
    • Verify the load current does not exceed the rated current of 63A.
    • Ensure adequate ventilation around the switch.
    • Check for loose connections, which can cause resistance and heat.

If problems persist after performing these checks, contact a qualified electrician or the manufacturer's support for assistance. Do not attempt to repair the internal components yourself.
