Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the earbuds and the charging case. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the charging case and a power source. The indicator lights on the case will show charging status.

App Download and Installation

The EFOTIML A8 earbuds require a dedicated mobile application for translation functionality. Scan the QR code provided in the included Earphone & App Manual to download the official application compatible with your iOS (11.0 and above) or Android (5.0 and above) device. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Bluetooth Pairing

1. Ensure the earbuds are charged and placed in the charging case.
2. Open the charging case lid. The earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode.
3. On your mobile device, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
4. Select "A8 Translator" from the list of devices to connect. It is crucial that the Bluetooth connection displays "A8 Translator" for proper functionality.
5. Once connected, open the EFOTIML translation application. The app will guide you through selecting the desired languages for translation.

Operating Modes (Translation)

The EFOTIML A8 earbuds offer three distinct translation modes to suit various communication scenarios:

1. Touch Mode

• Usage: Ideal for face-to-face conversations between two individuals.
• Operation: Both participants wear one earbud each. To translate, simply click or double-click the earbud (refer to app instructions for specific gesture) to initiate real-time interpretation. This mode provides simultaneous interpretation for in-depth communication.

2. Speaker Mode

• Usage: Suitable for situations where one person wears the earbuds and the other person holds the mobile phone, particularly useful for strangers or those who cannot wear earbuds.
• Operation: The earbud wearer speaks, and the translation is played through the phone's speaker. The other person speaks into the phone's microphone, and the translation is heard by the earbud wearer. This mode is effective for short questions and answers.

3. Free Talk Mode

• Usage: For more fluid, continuous conversations where the phone automatically picks up sentences.
• Operation: Both participants wear an earbud. The mobile phone automatically detects and translates spoken sentences into the required language. Ensure you are not too far from the mobile phone for optimal performance.

Basic Earbud Functions (Non-Translation)

When not connected to the translation application, the EFOTIML A8 earbuds can be used as regular Bluetooth earphones for music and calls. Utilize the touch controls on the earbuds for the following functions:

• Play/Pause: Touch the left or right earbud once.
• Answer Phone Call: Touch the left or right earbud once.
• Previous Song: Double-touch the earbud (specific earbud may vary, refer to app manual).
• Hang Up Phone Call: Touch the left or right earbud once.
• Next Song: Double-touch the main earbud (specific earbud may vary, refer to app manual).
• Reject Call: Press and hold the left or right earbud for 2 seconds.

Note: For iPhone users, the button may enter Bluetooth name customization function. Refer to the app manual for detailed gesture controls.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the earbuds and charging case with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
• Storage: Store the earbuds in their charging case when not in use to protect them from dust and damage. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.
