  • Be cautious of sharp edges and heavy components during assembly.
  • Always use a stable platform when working at heights, if applicable to your shed assembly.
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area during installation.
  • Ensure the shed structure is securely anchored before installing the floor frame.

3. Package Contents

The Floor Frame Kit includes all necessary hot-dipped galvanized steel components for constructing the frame. Flooring material is NOT INCLUDED and must be purchased separately.

  • Galvanized steel frame rails
  • Galvanized steel cross members
  • Fasteners and hardware for assembly

Note: Refer to the parts list included in your physical product packaging for a complete and detailed inventory of all components.

4. Tools Required

The following basic tools are required for assembly:

  • Philips screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Work gloves (recommended for safety)
  • Tape measure
  • Level
  • Spade or shovel (for site preparation, if needed)

5. Assembly Instructions

The floor frame kit is designed for easy assembly after your shed has been erected. Follow these steps carefully.

5.1. Site Preparation and Shed Erection

Ensure your shed is fully assembled and securely anchored on a level surface according to its own instruction manual before proceeding with the floor frame installation.

5.2. Assembling the Floor Frame

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully unpack all frame components and lay them out in an organized manner. Verify all parts are present against the included parts list.
  2. Connect Frame Rails: Begin by connecting the main frame rails. These form the perimeter of your floor. Use the provided fasteners to secure the connections.
  3. Install Cross Members: Insert the cross members into the designated slots or attach them to the main frame rails using the appropriate hardware. These cross members provide the primary support for your flooring material.

5.3. Installing the Frame Inside the Shed

Once assembled, carefully position the floor frame inside your erected shed. Ensure it fits snugly within the shed's base and is level. The frame is designed to sit directly on the ground or a prepared base within the shed's footprint.

5.4. Attaching Flooring Material

Flooring material is sold separately. It is recommended to use 5/8-inch minimum thickness, exterior-grade plywood with a waterproof adhesive for durability and moisture resistance.

  1. Cut Plywood: Measure the dimensions of the floor frame and cut your plywood sheets to fit. You may need multiple sheets depending on the shed size.
  2. Lay Plywood: Place the cut plywood sheets onto the assembled floor frame, ensuring they rest evenly on the cross members.
  3. Secure Plywood: Secure the plywood to the galvanized steel frame using appropriate screws or fasteners. Ensure the fasteners are suitable for outdoor use and penetrate the frame securely without causing damage.

It also notes that flooring is not included and advises against pressure-treated plywood.

6. Maintenance

The Floor Frame Kit is constructed from hot-dipped galvanized steel, providing superior corrosion resistance. Minimal maintenance is required.

  • Periodically inspect the frame for any signs of damage or loose fasteners. Tighten any loose connections as needed.
  • Ensure proper drainage around the shed to prevent water from pooling under the floor frame.
  • If using plywood flooring, inspect it regularly for moisture damage, rot, or pest infestation and replace as necessary.

7. Troubleshooting

Most issues related to the floor frame kit can be resolved by carefully reviewing the assembly instructions.

  • Frame does not fit: Double-check the shed dimensions and ensure the correct floor frame kit model was purchased. Verify the shed itself is square and level.
  • Loose components: Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely. Refer to the assembly steps to confirm all connections are made correctly.
  • Plywood not sitting flat: Verify the floor frame is level. Ensure plywood cuts are accurate and not warped.
