Once the power adapter and power cord are correctly connected to your fiber fusion splicer and a power source, the splicer should receive power. Refer to your specific AI-9 Series Fiber Fusion Splicer manual for detailed operating instructions of the splicer itself.

  • The power adapter provides the necessary DC voltage (13.5V / 4.5A) to operate and charge your compatible fiber fusion splicer.
  • An indicator light on the power adapter may illuminate when connected to power, indicating it is active.
  • Ensure all connections are secure before powering on your splicer.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your power adapter and power cord:

  • Cleaning: Disconnect from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surfaces. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Storage: Store the adapter and cords in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid tightly coiling the cables to prevent damage.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord and adapter for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires, cracked casings, or bent pins. Discontinue use if damage is found.
