2. Safety Information

4. Setup
4.1. Assembling the Monitor Stand
- Carefully remove the monitor from its packaging, keeping it protected on a soft surface.
- Attach the stand neck to the monitor panel. Ensure it clicks securely into place or is fastened with screws if applicable (tool-free design).
- Attach the stand base to the neck. Tighten the thumb screw at the bottom of the base to secure it.
- Place the assembled monitor on a stable, flat surface.

4.2. Connecting the Monitor
The MSI Modern MD342CQPW monitor offers various connectivity options:
- Power: Connect the power adapter to the DC-in port on the monitor and then to a power outlet.
- Video Input:
- HDMI: Connect an HDMI cable from your computer's HDMI output to one of the monitor's HDMI 2.0b ports.
- DisplayPort: Connect a DisplayPort cable from your computer's DisplayPort output to the monitor's DisplayPort 1.4a.

5. Operating the Monitor
5.1. Power On/Off
Press the power button located on the monitor to turn it on or off. The power indicator light will illuminate when the monitor is on.
5.2. OSD Menu Navigation
The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings. Use the joystick/buttons located on the back or bottom of the monitor to navigate the OSD menu.
- Joystick/Buttons: Push the joystick in to confirm selection, push up/down to navigate vertically, and push left/right to navigate horizontally or adjust values.
- Key OSD Features:
- Display: Adjust brightness, contrast, sharpness, and color temperature.
- Input Source: Manually select the active video input (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C).
- PIP/PBP: Configure Picture-in-Picture or Picture-by-Picture modes.

- Eye-Friendly Technologies: Enable or disable features like Less Blue Light and Anti-Flicker for reduced eye strain.

5.3. Adjusting the Monitor Stand
The monitor stand is 3-way adjustable, allowing for optimal viewing comfort:
- Height Adjustment: Gently push or pull the monitor up or down to adjust its height (up to 110mm).
- Tilt Adjustment: Tilt the monitor panel forward or backward (-5° to 20°) to find your preferred viewing angle.
- Swivel Adjustment: Rotate the monitor left or right (-30° to 30°) on its base.

5.4. KVM Functionality
The integrated KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch allows you to control multiple computers with a single set of keyboard and mouse connected to the monitor's USB ports. When you switch the video input source, the USB peripherals connected to the monitor will automatically switch to the selected computer.
5.5. PIP/PBP Functionality
The Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) functions allow you to display content from two different input sources simultaneously on the monitor. This is useful for multitasking or comparing content side-by-side.
- PIP: Displays a smaller window of the second input source over the main input source.
