1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your Master Airbrush TC-426 1/5 HP Cool-Runner Dual Fan Tank Air Compressor. This professional-grade, single-piston air compressor features a 3-liter air storage tank for consistent air pressure and zero pulsation, along with dual cooling fans for extended run time and lifespan. It is designed for various airbrushing applications, offering quiet and reliable performance.
2. Important Safety Instructions
Read all instructions carefully before using the compressor. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the compressor is connected to a properly grounded 110-volt electrical outlet. Do not operate in wet conditions or expose to rain.
- Ventilation: Operate the compressor in a well-ventilated area. Do not block air vents.
- Pressure Safety: Never exceed the maximum operating pressure of your airbrush or accessories. Always use a pressure regulator.
- Children and Pets: Keep the compressor out of reach of children and pets.
- Maintenance: Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
- Modifications: Do not modify the compressor or its components. Use only approved accessories.
3. Product Overview and Components
The Master Airbrush TC-426 is a powerful, innovative, and quiet air compressor designed for serious airbrushing. It features a robust design with advanced cooling and precise air control.
Key Features:
- 1/5 Horsepower Motor: Provides an impressive 25 liters/minute (0.85 CFM) of airflow.
- 3-Liter Air Storage Tank: Ensures constant air pressure and eliminates pulsation for smooth operation.
- Dual Cooling Fans: Two independent fans (one for the piston head, one for motor windings) enhance heat dissipation, allowing for longer continuous run times without overheating and extending the compressor's lifespan. The compressor maintains approximately 100°F during operation.
- Air-On-Demand System: Automatically shuts off when air pressure reaches 65 PSI and turns on at 51 PSI, conserving energy and reducing wear.
- True Diaphragm Air Pressure Regulator: Features a gauge for precise adjustment of operating pressure and consistent airflow.
- Water Trap Filter: Ensures clean, moisture-free dry air, improving airbrushing performance and paint finish results.
- Quiet Operation: Operates at a low noise level of 47 dB.
- Portable Design: Lightweight, compact, and includes a built-in carrying handle.
- Maintenance-Free: Oil-less piston type design.
Included Components:
- Master Airbrush TC-426 Compressor Unit with 3-Liter Tank
- Integrated Pressure Regulator with Gauge and Water Trap Filter
- 6-Foot Braided Air Hose (1/8" BSP female fittings)
- Airbrush Holders (for 2 airbrushes)

4. Setup Instructions
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the compressor and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Placement: Place the compressor on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure adequate space around the unit for airflow.
- Connect Air Hose: Connect one end of the provided 6-foot braided air hose to the air outlet on the compressor's regulator. Ensure a secure connection.
- Connect Airbrush: Connect your airbrush to the other end of the air hose. Note: The included hose has 1/8" BSP female fittings. If your airbrush uses different fittings (e.g., Paasche, Badger, Iwata), you will need appropriate adapters (sold separately).
- Power Connection: Plug the compressor's power cord into a standard 110-volt grounded electrical outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Flip the power switch located on the compressor to the 'ON' position. The compressor will begin to fill the air tank until it reaches approximately 65 PSI, then it will automatically shut off.
- Adjust Air Pressure: To adjust the output air pressure, first pull up the adjustment knob on the regulator. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase pressure or counter-clockwise to decrease pressure. The current output pressure will be displayed on the regulator gauge. Once the desired pressure is set, push the knob down to lock it in place.
- Air-On-Demand System: The compressor's automatic system will maintain pressure. When you begin airbrushing, the pressure in the tank will drop. Once it reaches approximately 51 PSI, the compressor will automatically turn on to refill the tank. It will then shut off again at 65 PSI. This cycle ensures consistent pressure during use.
- Begin Airbrushing: With the desired pressure set, you can now begin your airbrushing work.
- Power Off: When finished, turn off the power switch and disconnect the compressor from the electrical outlet.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your compressor.
- Drain Air Tank: To prevent internal rust, it is recommended to drain the 3-liter air tank after each use or before extended storage. Locate the drain plug at the very bottom of the tank. Unscrew it to release any accumulated moisture. It may be tight initially, requiring pliers, but should then be hand-tightened back on.
- Drain Water Trap Filter: Periodically check the water trap filter for accumulated moisture. Press the release valve at the bottom of the moisture trap to drain any water. This should be done while there is pressure in the tank for effective drainage.
- Clean Air Filter: Inspect the air intake filter regularly. Clean or replace it if it appears dirty or clogged to ensure proper airflow and prevent strain on the motor.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the compressor with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Master Airbrush TC-426 compressor.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor does not turn on. | No power, faulty switch, or thermal overload. | Check power connection and outlet. Ensure switch is ON. Allow unit to cool if it has been running for an extended period. |
| No air pressure or low pressure. | Regulator knob not pulled up/adjusted, air leaks, clogged filter, or airbrush issue. | Pull up and adjust regulator knob. Check all hose connections for leaks (apply Teflon tape if needed). Clean or replace air filter. Ensure airbrush is clean and not clogged. |
| Compressor runs continuously. | Air leak in system or faulty pressure switch. | Check all connections for air leaks. If problem persists, contact customer support. |
| Compressor gets hot during use. | Normal operation, or prolonged heavy use. | The dual cooling system is designed to manage heat, keeping the unit around 100°F. If it feels excessively hot or shuts down, ensure proper ventilation and allow for cool-down periods during very long sessions. |
| Water in air line/airbrush. | Water trap full or not draining. | Regularly drain the water trap filter and the main air tank. |
