1. Package Contents

Please verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

  • 1 x Game Stick (HDMI dongle)

2. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your CWZZ Retro Gaming Console M8:

  1. Insert TF Card: Ensure the 64GB TF card is securely inserted into the Game Stick.
  2. Connect HDMI Extension: Plug the HDMI extension cable into the Game Stick.
  3. Connect Wireless Receiver: Insert the wireless receiver into the USB port on the Game Stick.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the USB power cable to the Game Stick and then to a 5V2A power adapter (a standard phone charger, avoid fast chargers).
  5. Connect to TV: Plug the Game Stick (with the HDMI extension) into an available HDMI input port on your television or monitor.
  6. Controller Batteries: Open the battery compartment on each wireless controller and insert two AAA batteries (not included).
  7. Power On Controllers: Turn on the power switch located on each controller.
  8. Select TV Input: Using your TV remote, switch the input source to the HDMI port where the Game Stick is connected. The console will automatically power on when the adapter is connected.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Controller Functions

Familiarize yourself with the controller layout and button functions:

  • Arrow Keys (D-pad): Used for menu navigation and in-game directional control.
  • Function Keys (A, B, X, Y): Primary action buttons for selecting, jumping, attacking, etc.
  • Directional Rocker (Left Analog Stick): Provides precise movement control in games.
  • Stance Swing (Right Analog Stick): May be used for camera control or secondary actions depending on the game.
  • SELECT Button: Acts as the 'coin' button in arcade-style games.
  • START Button: Used to pause games or confirm selections.
  • Power Switch: Located on the controller to turn it on or off.
  • R2 Button: Used to favorite or unfavorite games in the menu.

3.2 Navigating the Game Menu

The main menu provides several options for browsing and managing games:

  • Use the Arrow Keys or Directional Rocker to move between menu options.
  • Press the 'A' button to select an option or enter a sub-menu.
  • Press the 'B' button to go back to the previous menu.

Key menu categories include:

  • List: Displays the full list of available games.
  • Class: Organizes games by emulator type (MAME, FC, GB, GBA, GBC, MD, SFC, PS1, Atari).
  • Favor: Shows games you have marked as favorites.
  • Histo: Displays your recently played games.
  • Search: Allows you to find games by typing the first letter(s) of their title.
  • Set: Accesses system settings, including language and factory reset options.

3.3 Playing a Game

  1. From the main menu, select an emulator from the 'Class' menu or browse the 'List'.
  2. Navigate to the desired game using the D-pad or directional rocker.
  3. Press the 'A' button to start the game.
  4. Once in-game, the SELECT button typically functions as a 'coin insert' for arcade games, and the START button will begin or pause gameplay.

3.4 Exiting and Saving Games

To access the in-game menu:

  • Press the SELECT + START buttons simultaneously on the main controller.

From this menu, you can:

  • Continue: Resume current gameplay.
  • Save State: Save your current game progress.
  • Load State: Load a previously saved game state.
  • Exit Game: Return to the main game selection menu.

3.5 Favoriting and Searching Games

  • Favoriting: While in the game list, press the R2 button on the joystick to add a game to your favorites. Press R2 again to unfavorite it.
  • Searching: In the search menu, enter the first letter(s) of the game title. The results will dynamically update on the left side of the screen.

3.6 Language Settings and Factory Reset

  • Language: Navigate to the 'Set' menu, select 'Language', and choose your preferred language from the available options (English, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Indonesian).
  • Factory Reset: In the 'Set' menu, select 'Factory Reset'. Be aware that performing a factory reset will delete your game history, favorites, and any downloaded games.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your gaming console:

  • Keep the Game Stick and controllers clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Store the console and accessories in a safe place when not in use to prevent damage.
  • Replace controller batteries promptly when they run low to maintain optimal wireless performance.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Signal on TV:
    • Ensure the Game Stick is firmly plugged into an HDMI port on your TV.
    • Verify that your TV's input source is set to the correct HDMI port.
    • Check that the USB power cable is securely connected to the Game Stick and a working power source.
  • Controllers Not Responding:
    • Confirm that the controllers have fresh AAA batteries and their power switches are turned on.
    • Ensure the wireless receiver is properly inserted into the Game Stick's USB port.
    • If issues persist, try turning the controller off and on again to re-establish connection.
  • Game Freezing or Lagging:
    • Verify the 64GB TF card is correctly inserted into the Game Stick.
    • Restart the Game Stick by unplugging and replugging its power cable.
    • If the problem continues, consider performing a factory reset (refer to Section 3.6), but be aware of data loss.
  • Cannot Find Specific Games:
    • Utilize the 'Search' function in the main menu.
    • Check the 'Class' menu to ensure you are browsing the correct emulator category for the game you are looking for.
