4. Setup
4.1 Installing the Memory Card
- Locate the memory card slot on the side of the dash cam.
- Insert the provided 32GB memory card into the slot with the gold contacts facing the back of the camera until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card inward until it springs out.
4.2 Mounting the Dash Cam
- Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dash cam. Ensure it is free of dust and grease.
- Attach the adhesive mount to the dash cam unit.
- Remove the protective film from the adhesive pad.
- Firmly press the dash cam with the mount onto the chosen spot on your windshield, ensuring it does not obstruct your view. Hold for at least 30 seconds.
- Adjust the camera lens angle to ensure optimal front and interior views.
4.3 Power Connection
- Connect the car charger cable to the USB power interface on the dash cam.
- Plug the other end of the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
- The dash cam will typically power on automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- Automatic: The dash cam will power on and begin recording automatically when connected to power and the vehicle's ignition is on.
- Manual: Press and hold the power button (if available) for a few seconds to manually turn the device on or off.
5.2 Recording Modes
- Continuous Recording: Once powered on, the dash cam will automatically start continuous loop recording. Videos are saved in segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes) to the memory card.
- Parking Monitoring: When enabled in settings, the dash cam will detect motion or impact while parked and record a short video clip. This feature requires a constant power supply (e.g., hardwire kit, not included).
- Motion Detection: When enabled, the camera will start recording when it detects movement in its field of view. This is typically used when the vehicle is stationary.
5.3 Accessing Settings and Playback
- Use the buttons on the dash cam to navigate through the menu options on the 3.16-inch screen.
- Settings typically include resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, parking monitor, motion detection, date/time, and language.
- To view recorded videos, enter playback mode via the menu. You can also remove the memory card and view footage on a computer.
- For models with wireless connectivity, download the specified mobile application (refer to packaging or on-screen prompts for app name) to connect to the dash cam via Wi-Fi for live view, playback, and settings adjustment.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Dash Cam
- Use the provided cleaning towel or a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the camera lenses and screen.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the device.
6.2 Memory Card Management
- It is recommended to format the memory card regularly (e.g., once a month) using the dash cam's menu option. This helps maintain optimal recording performance and prevents data corruption.
- Ensure important locked videos are backed up to another device before formatting.
7. Troubleshooting
- Dash Cam not powering on: Check the power connection to the vehicle's 12V outlet. Ensure the outlet is functioning. Try a different USB cable or car charger if available.
- Recording stops or freezes: Format the memory card. Ensure the memory card is a high-speed (Class 10 or U1/U3) card. Replace the memory card if issues persist.
- Poor video quality: Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses. Check resolution settings in the menu.
- Buttons unresponsive: Try resetting the device (if a reset button/pinhole is available, use a thin object to press it).
- Parking Monitor not working: Ensure the feature is enabled in settings. Verify the dash cam is receiving constant power when the vehicle is off (requires specific wiring, not standard car charger).
- Wi-Fi connection issues: Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the dash cam and your mobile device. Restart both devices. Check the app for specific connection instructions.
