4. Setup

4.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the stopwatch.
2. Gently slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
3. Insert one AAA battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery cover back into place until it clicks securely.

4.2. Initial Power On/Off

To turn the stopwatch on or off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 5 seconds. The display will illuminate when powered on and turn off when powered off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Button Functions

• MODE / ON/OFF: Switches between stopwatch and countdown modes. Press and hold for 5 seconds to turn the device on/off.
• SPLIT / RESET: In stopwatch mode, records split times. In stopwatch or countdown mode, resets the timer when stopped.
• START / STOP: Starts or stops the timer in both stopwatch and countdown modes.

5.2. Stopwatch Mode

1. Ensure the stopwatch is powered on. If not, press and hold the MODE / ON/OFF button for 5 seconds.
2. Press the MODE / ON/OFF button to cycle until "STOPWATCH" is displayed.
3. Press START / STOP to begin timing.
4. To record a split time, press SPLIT / RESET while the stopwatch is running. The display will momentarily show the split time before returning to the running total.
5. Press START / STOP again to pause the timer.
6. To resume timing, press START / STOP.
7. To reset the stopwatch to zero, press SPLIT / RESET while the timer is stopped.

5.3. Countdown Timer Mode

1. Ensure the stopwatch is powered on.
2. Press the MODE / ON/OFF button to cycle until "TIMER" or "COUNTDOWN" is displayed.
3. To set the countdown time, press SPLIT / RESET to enter setting mode. The digits will flash.
4. Use START / STOP to adjust the value of the flashing digit (hours, minutes, seconds). Press MODE / ON/OFF to move to the next digit.
5. Once the desired time is set, press SPLIT / RESET to confirm and exit setting mode.
6. Press START / STOP to begin the countdown.
7. Press START / STOP again to pause the countdown.
8. To resume, press START / STOP.
9. To reset the countdown timer to the last set time, press SPLIT / RESET while the timer is stopped.

6. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the stopwatch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: Replace the AAA battery when the display becomes dim or the stopwatch stops functioning. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.
