4. Setup
4.1 Attaching/Removing the Battery Pack
- Ensure the hedge trimmer is switched off.
- To attach: Slide a charged Bosch Professional 18V battery pack into the battery slot until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove: Press the battery release button and pull the battery pack out of the tool.
4.2 Attaching the Blade Cover
The blade cover should always be used when the hedge trimmer is not in operation or during transport and storage. Slide the blade cover over the cutting blade until it is fully seated.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting and Stopping
- To start: Hold the hedge trimmer firmly with both hands. Press and hold the safety switch (usually on the front handle) and then squeeze the trigger switch (on the rear handle).
- To stop: Release the trigger switch. The blades will stop quickly.
5.2 Cutting Techniques

- Horizontal Cutting: Hold the hedge trimmer with both hands, keeping the blade parallel to the ground. Sweep the trimmer in an arc, cutting from the bottom upwards for best results.

- Anti-Blocking System: This system allows the trimmer to cut thicker branches without jamming. If the blade jams, the system automatically reverses the blade direction to free it.
