4. Setup Instructions

  1. Connect to Host Device:

    Locate an available USB port on your laptop or desktop computer. Plug the integrated USB 3.0 data cable from the external drive into the USB port on your computer. If your computer only has USB-C ports, use the provided USB-A to USB-C adapter.

  2. Auxiliary Power (Optional but Recommended):

    For optimal performance, especially when burning discs or using multiple USB devices simultaneously, connect the Micro USB power cable to the drive's Micro USB power supply port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., a USB wall adapter, a powered USB hub, or another USB port on your computer).

  3. Driver Installation:

    The drive is plug-and-play. Your operating system should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. No manual driver installation is typically required.

  4. Verification:

    Once connected, the drive should appear as a removable storage device in "My Computer" (Windows) or "Finder" (Mac OS).

5.1. Using the CD/DVD Drive

  1. Inserting a Disc:

    Press the eject button located on the front of the drive to open the disc tray. Carefully place a CD or DVD onto the tray with the label side facing up. Gently push the tray back into the drive until it clicks into place.

  2. Reading Discs:

    After inserting a disc, your computer should automatically detect it. You can then access the disc's contents through "My Computer" or "Finder." For playing movies or music, you may need compatible media player software installed on your computer.

  3. Burning Discs:

    To burn data to a CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW, you will need third-party burning software (e.g., Nero, Roxio, or built-in Windows/Mac burning utilities). Follow the instructions provided by your chosen burning software.

  4. Ejecting a Disc:

    To eject a disc, either press the eject button on the drive or right-click the drive icon in "My Computer"/"Finder" and select "Eject."

7. Troubleshooting
