3. What's in the Box
Each package of Mitreapel HD100 Polyurethane Sealant contains:
- Polyurethane Adhesive Cartridges (quantity as per pack size, e.g., 12x 9.4 fl oz)
4. Preparation and Setup
Proper surface preparation is crucial for optimal adhesion and performance of the sealant.
- Clean and Moisten Surface: Ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, and loose particles. For best results, slightly moisten non-porous surfaces before application. Masking tape can be used in adjacent areas to ensure clean lines.
- Prepare Cartridge: Cut the tip of the cartridge nozzle at a 45-degree angle to achieve the desired bead thickness. The bead size should be appropriate for the joint or gap being filled.
- Load Caulking Gun: Puncture the inner seal of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a standard caulking gun.

5. Application Instructions
Follow these steps for effective application of the sealant:
- Apply Sealant: Apply the sealant in a continuous, even flow, pushing it firmly into the joint or gap to ensure complete filling and good contact with both surfaces. Maintain a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio for optimal performance.
- Tooling and Finishing: Immediately after application, tool the sealant bead with a suitable tool (e.g., spatula, gloved finger) to achieve a smooth finish and ensure proper contact. Wipe off any excess sealant with a solvent-dampened cloth before it cures.
