6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Low battery or no charge.Connect the device to a power source using the Type-C cable and charge it fully.
Incorrect component identification or measurement.Component not properly inserted; damaged component; outdated firmware.Ensure the component is securely inserted into the correct test points. Verify the component is not damaged. Check for and install the latest firmware from the FNIRSI homepage.
Transistor pinout displayed incorrectly.Firmware bug (known issue in older versions).Update the device firmware to the latest version (e.g., 1.0.8 or newer) from the official FNIRSI website. If the issue persists, try re-inserting the transistor in different orientations.
Infrared decoding not working.Incorrect mode selected; remote control battery low; remote control not transmitting.Ensure the mode switch is set to IR-Decoding. Check the remote control's battery. Point the remote directly at the LCR-P1's IR receiver.
Capacitor measurement seems inaccurate.Capacitor not discharged; damaged capacitor. The LCR-P1 has an auto-discharge function, but for safety, ensure large capacitors are discharged before insertion. Test with a known good capacitor.
