1. Introduction

The YIGPAIPO CCS Adapter (Model: CCSBOX01) allows compatible Tesla Model 3, Y, X, and S vehicles to utilize CCS (Combined Charging System) DC fast chargers. This adapter facilitates high-power direct current charging, expanding your charging options beyond the Tesla Supercharger network. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and proper operation.

2. Safety Information

• Voltage Limit: Do not exceed 500V DC. This adapter is designed for DC fast charging only and is not compatible with Level 1 or Level 2 AC EV chargers.
• Environmental Conditions: The adapter has an IP44 water resistance rating, allowing for outdoor use. However, avoid using it in heavy rain to prevent potential damage or safety hazards.
• Temperature Range: The adapter is designed to operate properly within a temperature range of -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C).
• Protection Features: The adapter incorporates multiple safety protections, including over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, leakage, and overheating protection.

3. Compatibility

3.1 Vehicle Compatibility Check

• Not all Tesla vehicles are equipped with CCS charging capability.
• Teslas built before 2014 may not have CCS enabled.
• The following Tesla models may require an ECU retrofit to use a CCS adapter:
  • Model X: Manufactured prior to February 2020
  • Model 3: Manufactured prior to June 2020, or between June 2021 and September 2021
  • Model S: Manufactured prior to February 2020
  • Model Y: Manufactured prior to March 2020, or between June 2021 and September 2021
• To determine if your vehicle is compatible, navigate to Controls > Software > Additional Vehicle Information on your Tesla's touchscreen, or contact Tesla support.

3.2 Charger Compatibility

This adapter is designed for use with CCS1 DC fast chargers. It is not applicable for J1772 chargers or Tesla Superchargers.

4. Setup and Operating Instructions

4.1 Connecting the Adapter

1. Ensure your Tesla vehicle is parked and turned off.
2. Locate the charging port on your Tesla.
3. Carefully insert the YIGPAIPO CCS Adapter into your Tesla's charging port. Ensure it is fully seated.
4. Take the CCS1 charging cable from the public charging station.
5. Insert the CCS1 charging cable into the YIGPAIPO CCS Adapter. Ensure a secure connection.

4.2 Initiating Charging

1. Once both the adapter and the CCS1 cable are securely connected, follow the instructions on the public charging station's screen to initiate the charging session.
2. Monitor the charging status on your Tesla's display or mobile app.
3. The adapter supports fast charging up to 250 kW and 500V DC. Actual charging speed will depend on the specifications of the CCS charger used and your vehicle's charging capabilities.

4.3 Disconnecting After Charging

1. Terminate the charging session via the charging station's interface or your Tesla's controls.
2. Wait for the charging indicator lights to confirm the session has ended.
3. Carefully disconnect the CCS1 charging cable from the adapter.
4. Remove the YIGPAIPO CCS Adapter from your Tesla's charging port.
5. Store the adapter in its protective carrying case when not in use.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the adapter with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6. Troubleshooting

• Charging Not Initiating:
  • Ensure both the adapter and the CCS1 cable are fully and securely connected.
  • Verify that your Tesla vehicle is CCS enabled (refer to Section 3.1).
  • Check the charging station for error messages or instructions.
  • Try a different CCS charging station if available.
• Slow Charging Speed:
  • Actual charging speed depends on the specific CCS charger's output and your Tesla's maximum charging rate.

• Adapter Overheating:
