4. Installation Instructions

This water heater is designed for easy installation, but professional plumbing and electrical knowledge are recommended. Ensure all local codes and regulations are followed.

4.1 Mounting Options

The compact design allows for flexible installation:

  • Floor-mounted

4.2 Plumbing Connections

  1. Apply plumber's tape to all threaded connections to ensure a watertight seal.
  2. Install the provided Pressure and Temperature (T&P) Relief Valve into the designated port on the top of the unit. Ensure the discharge line from the T&P valve is routed to an open drain.
  3. Connect the cold water supply line (1/2" NPT) to the "Cold Water Inlet" port (typically blue).
  4. Connect the hot water outlet line (1/2" NPT) to the "Hot Water Outlet" port (typically red).
  5. Once all connections are secure, slowly open the cold water supply valve to fill the tank. Open a hot water faucet in your sink to allow air to escape from the tank. Close the faucet once water flows steadily.
  6. Check all connections for leaks. Tighten as necessary.

4.3 Electrical Connection

  • Ensure the power supply matches the unit's requirements: 110V/120V, 1500W.
  • The water heater comes with a 3-foot power cord for plug-in connection. Connect to a grounded outlet.
  • Do not turn on the power until the tank is completely filled with water.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed and filled with water, your Ganggend water heater is ready for operation.

5.1 Power On

Plug the unit into a grounded 110V/120V outlet. The digital display will illuminate.

5.2 Temperature Adjustment

Use the mechanical knob on the front panel to set your desired water temperature. The temperature range is from 86°F to 149°F. The digital display will show the current water temperature.

5.3 Indicator Lights

  • Heating Indicator: Illuminates when the unit is actively heating water.
  • Insulation Indicator: Illuminates when the unit is maintaining the set temperature (insulating).

5.4 Energy Efficiency

The water heater features 90% thermal efficiency and long-lasting insulation to minimize heat loss. It can heat water in approximately 6 minutes, consuming only about 0.15 kWh per heating cycle.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your water heater.

  • Drain and Flush: Periodically drain and flush the tank to remove sediment buildup. This is especially important in areas with hard water. Refer to a qualified plumber for this procedure.
  • Inspect T&P Valve: Annually check the Pressure and Temperature Relief Valve to ensure it is operating correctly. Lift and release the lever on the valve to ensure water flows freely and then reseals. If it does not reseal, replace it immediately.
  • Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your water heater, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
