The smoke detector can be installed on a wall or ceiling. Ensure the chosen location is free from obstructions and away from vents, windows, or areas with high humidity.

6.1 Recommended Placement

  • Install at least one detector on every level of your home, including basements and attics.
  • For optimal protection, install a smoke detector inside every bedroom and outside each sleeping area.
  • Avoid placing detectors in kitchens, bathrooms, or garages where steam, cooking fumes, or exhaust can cause false alarms.

6.2 Mounting Options

You can mount the detector using the provided screws and wall anchors for a permanent installation, or use the double-sided adhesive tape for a less permanent solution.

  1. Using Screws: Mark the desired location. Drill two holes, insert wall anchors, and secure the mounting bracket with screws. Attach the smoke detector to the bracket by twisting it clockwise.
  2. Using Adhesive Tape: Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry. Peel one side of the protective film from the double-sided adhesive tape and attach it to the back of the mounting bracket.
