2. Safety Information
Please read all safety warnings and instructions before using this appliance to reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, and serious injury.
- Always unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.

4. Assembly and Setup
Follow these steps to assemble your BLACK+DECKER Powerseries Lite Stick Vacuum:
- Attach the Floor Nozzle: Align the floor nozzle with the main vacuum unit. Push firmly until it clicks securely into place.
- Attach the Handle Assembly: Insert the handle assembly into the top opening of the main vacuum unit. Push down until it locks into position. Ensure the cord is properly routed along the handle if there are cord clips.
- Check Filter Installation: Before first use, ensure the HEPA filter is correctly seated inside the dust cup. Refer to the 'Maintenance' section for filter details.

5. Operating Instructions
The BLACK+DECKER Powerseries Lite offers three versatile cleaning modes:

5.1 Upright Stick Vacuum Mode
This mode is ideal for cleaning hard floors and low-pile carpets.
- Ensure the floor nozzle and handle are securely attached.
- Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Press the power button located on the main unit to turn on the vacuum.
- Gently push and pull the vacuum across the surface to be cleaned.

5.2 Handheld Vacuum Mode
Convert your stick vacuum into a portable handheld unit for quick clean-ups and hard-to-reach areas.
- Unplug the vacuum.
- Detach the handle assembly and the floor nozzle from the main vacuum unit.
- The main vacuum unit now functions as a handheld vacuum.
- Plug in the vacuum and press the power button to operate.

5.3 Crevice Tool Mode
For tight spaces, corners, and edges, the integrated crevice tool provides focused suction.
- In handheld mode, the narrow end of the main vacuum unit acts as a crevice tool.
- Direct the narrow opening into crevices, along baseboards, or in tight corners to remove dust and debris.

5.4 Suction Power
The vacuum provides a powerful 12,000 Pa suction, effective on various surfaces.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner.
6.1 Emptying the Dust Cup
Empty the dust cup after each use or when debris reaches the MAX fill line.
- Unplug the vacuum cleaner.
- Locate the dust cup release button/latch on the main vacuum unit.
- Press the button and carefully detach the dust cup.
- Hold the dust cup over a trash bin and open the bottom flap to release debris.
- Close the flap and reattach the dust cup to the main unit, ensuring it clicks into place.
6.2 Cleaning the HEPA Filter
The HEPA filter should be cleaned regularly to maintain suction power and filtration efficiency. It is recommended to clean the filter every 2-4 uses, depending on usage.
- Unplug the vacuum and remove the dust cup as described above.
- Carefully remove the HEPA filter from inside the dust cup.
- Tap the filter gently over a trash bin to remove loose dust and debris.
- If necessary, rinse the filter under cool running water. Do not use detergent.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting it into the dust cup. Do not use the vacuum with a wet filter.
- Once dry, place the filter back into the dust cup and reattach the dust cup to the vacuum.
6.3 General Cleaning
- Wipe the exterior of the vacuum with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaners or solvents.
- Check the floor nozzle for any tangled hair or debris and remove as needed.
