1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective operation of the NENEN ZK-PP2K PWM DC Motor Speed Controller. This device is designed to regulate the speed of DC motors and control the brightness of LEDs by adjusting the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signal. It features a wide input voltage range, high power output, and a clear digital display for easy monitoring and adjustment.
2. Safety Information
- Power Supply: Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range of 3.3V to 30V DC. Exceeding this range can damage the device.
- Polarity: Always observe correct polarity when connecting the power supply and motor. Incorrect connections can cause damage.
- Current Limit: Do not exceed the maximum output current of 8A or power of 150W. Overloading the controller can lead to overheating and failure.
- Environment: Operate the device in a dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid exposure to moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures.
- Handling: Handle the device with care. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impacts.
- Overload Protection: The flame-retardant casing provides an additional layer of protection, but proper usage is still essential.
3. Product Overview
The NENEN ZK-PP2K is a high-power PWM driver designed for precise control. It features a digital display, intuitive button controls, and a rotary knob for fine adjustments.

4. Setup Instructions
- Power Connection: Connect your DC power supply (3.3V to 30V) to the input terminals of the controller. Ensure correct polarity: positive (+) to positive, negative (-) to negative.
- Motor/Load Connection: Connect your DC motor or other inductive load to the output terminals of the controller. Again, observe correct polarity if your load is sensitive to it.
- Initial Power On: Once connections are secure, apply power to the controller. The digital display should illuminate, showing the current settings.
Note: Always ensure the power supply is disconnected before making or changing any wiring connections.
5. Operating Instructions
The ZK-PP2K controller features several buttons and a rotary knob for adjusting its parameters.
5.1. Button Functions
- ON/OFF Button: Toggles the output power to the connected load.
- SET Button: Used to enter parameter setting mode. Press and hold to cycle through settings.
- FREQ/P (+/-) Buttons: Adjust the PWM frequency (P).
- DUTY/N (+/-) Buttons: Adjust the PWM duty cycle (N).
5.2. Adjusting Parameters
- Power On/Off: Press the ON button to enable the output. Press it again to disable the output.
- Setting Frequency (P):
- Press the SET button briefly to enter frequency adjustment mode. The frequency value on the display will blink.
- Use the FREQ/P (+) and FREQ/P (-) buttons to increase or decrease the frequency.
- Press SET again to confirm and exit frequency adjustment, or wait a few seconds for it to auto-save.
- Setting Duty Cycle (N):
- Press the SET button twice (or cycle through frequency setting) to enter duty cycle adjustment mode. The duty cycle value on the display will blink.
- Use the DUTY/N (+) and DUTY/N (-) buttons to increase or decrease the duty cycle.
- Press SET again to confirm and exit duty cycle adjustment, or wait a few seconds for it to auto-save.
- Rotary Knob: The rotary knob provides fine-tuning for the selected parameter (either frequency or duty cycle, depending on which is currently blinking). Rotate clockwise to increase, counter-clockwise to decrease.
Tip: A higher duty cycle generally means higher motor speed or LED brightness. A higher frequency can result in smoother motor operation.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the controller. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Controller does not power on. | No power supply, incorrect polarity, faulty power supply. | Check power connections and polarity. Test power supply. |
| Motor/LED not responding. | Output is OFF, incorrect wiring, faulty motor/LED, duty cycle set to 0. | Press ON button. Verify motor/LED connections. Check duty cycle setting. Test motor/LED separately. |
| Inconsistent motor speed. | Unstable power supply, loose connections, motor issues. | Ensure stable power. Check all wiring. Inspect motor for damage. |
| Display shows incorrect values. | Device malfunction. | Contact customer support if issues persist after checking connections and power. |
