2. Safety Information

5. Setup
Before first use, install the batteries.
- Ensure the sharpener is turned off.
- Flip the sharpener over to access the battery compartment on the bottom (refer to Figure 4.4).
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 4 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- Place the sharpener on a stable, non-slip surface.
6. Operating Instructions
This electric sharpener is designed to sharpen various tools including knives, scissors, and screwdrivers. Always ensure the sharpener is stable and powered on before use.
6.1 Sharpening Knives
- Identify the appropriate knife sharpening slot (refer to Figure 4.2 for slot indicators).
- Hold the knife firmly with one hand and the sharpener with the other.
- Insert the knife blade into the designated slot, ensuring it is centered. The sharpener is designed to hold the blade at the correct angle.
- Gently pull the knife blade towards you through the slot, applying light, consistent pressure. Do not push the knife away from you.
- Repeat this motion 3-5 times for each side of the blade, or until the desired sharpness is achieved.
- After sharpening, carefully wipe the blade with a damp cloth to remove any metal particles.
6.2 Sharpening Scissors
- Locate the scissor sharpening slot (refer to Figure 4.2).
- Open the scissors and insert one blade into the slot.
- Pull the scissor blade through the slot, maintaining light pressure.
- Repeat for the other scissor blade.
- Test the sharpness and repeat if necessary.
6.3 Sharpening Screwdrivers
- Use the designated screwdriver sharpening slot (refer to Figure 4.2).
- Insert the tip of the screwdriver into the slot.
- Gently pull the screwdriver through the slot a few times.
- Check the tip for sharpness and repeat if needed.
Important: Always exercise caution when handling sharp objects. Do not apply excessive force when sharpening, as this can damage the blade or the sharpener.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your sharpener.
- Ensure the sharpener is turned off and batteries are removed before cleaning.
- Carefully remove the transparent collection tray located at the front of the sharpener (refer to Figure 4.3).
- Empty any accumulated metal shavings from the tray into a waste bin.
- Wipe the collection tray with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the sharpener. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Reinsert the clean collection tray securely.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your electric knife sharpener, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
