Hot-Swappable Switches

Gasket Structure and Typing Experience

The keyboard features a gasket-mounted design with PCB single key slotting and four layers of sound-dampening foam. This construction optimizes resilience and stability, providing a softer, more elastic, and low-noise typing experience.

Ergonomic Design

The 65% layout with arrow keys offers a compact form factor without sacrificing essential functionality. The keyboard's curved body and 7° tilt angle, combined with an ergonomic stepped keycap layout, are designed to reduce typing fatigue during extended use.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the keyboard surface. For keycaps, a mild cleaning solution can be applied to a cloth, then gently wipe the keycaps. Avoid direct spraying of liquids onto the keyboard.
  • Switch Replacement: To replace switches, use the provided switch puller tool to carefully remove the keycap, then use the same tool to extract the switch. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place.

Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard Not Responding: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • RGB Lights Not Working: Check the RGB settings via the QMK/VIA software. Ensure the backlight is not turned off or set to a very low brightness.
  • Keys Not Registering: If individual keys are not working, try hot-swapping the switch for a known working one or a spare switch to determine if the switch itself is faulty.
  • Software Issues: If experiencing problems with QMK/VIA software, ensure you have the latest version installed from the official HITIME website.
