1. Introduction

This electric fireplace is designed to provide supplemental heat and a realistic flame effect, enhancing the ambiance of your living space. It features adjustable flame intensity, temperature control, and a convenient timer function.

2. Safety Information

Important Safety Instructions:

  • Read all instructions before installing or using this heater.
  • This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains, at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • This fireplace features overheat protection for added safety. If the unit overheats, it will automatically shut off. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before restarting.
  • The product is designed to meet CSA safety standards.

4. Setup and Assembly

This electric fireplace is designed for freestanding use. Minimal assembly is required, primarily for attaching the mantel surround components to the fireplace insert.

4.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Place all parts on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
  3. Verify that all items listed in the 'Package Contents' section are present.

4.2 Assembly Steps

  1. Follow the detailed assembly instructions provided in the separate assembly guide (if included) or diagrams for attaching the mantel pieces. Ensure all screws and fasteners are securely tightened.
  2. Once assembled, place the fireplace on a flat, stable, and level surface.
  3. Ensure the fireplace is positioned away from curtains, furniture, and other combustible materials. Maintain at least 3 feet (0.9 m) clearance from the front, sides, and rear.

4.3 Power Connection

  1. Ensure the power switch on the fireplace is in the 'OFF' position.
  2. Plug the power cord into a grounded 120V AC outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

5. Operating Instructions

Your HOMCOM electric fireplace can be controlled using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

5.1 Control Panel and Remote Control Functions

The control panel is located on the front of the fireplace. The remote control offers the same functionality for convenience.

  • Power Button (On/Off): Press to turn the fireplace ON or OFF.
  • Flame Button: Press to cycle through the three flame intensity levels (soft glow, medium, roaring fire). The flame effect can be used independently without heating.
  • Heat Button: Press to activate the heating function. Use this button to adjust the desired temperature.
  • Timer Button: Press to set the automatic shut-off timer.

5.2 Realistic Flame Effect

The fireplace features LEDs with a 3D flame effect. You can adjust the flame intensity to three levels to create your desired ambiance. This function can operate independently of the heating element.

5.3 Temperature Control

The electric heater fireplace allows you to adjust the temperature settings from 62°F (17°C) to 82°F (27°C). The unit will automatically turn on and off to maintain the set temperature, effectively heating areas up to 323 sq. ft.

5.4 Timer Function

Utilize the timer function to set the fireplace to automatically turn off after a specified period, ranging from 0.5 to 6 hours. This feature helps conserve energy and provides convenience.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your electric fireplace.

6.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the fireplace from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Gently wipe the glass panel with a soft cloth. For stubborn marks, use a glass cleaner specifically designed for fireplaces, applied to the cloth first, not directly to the glass.
  • Ensure no moisture enters the ventilation openings.

6.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the fireplace in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging, to protect it from dust and damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your electric fireplace, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
