5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your pressure washer.
5.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure all connections are secure and the water supply is on.
- Turn the engine switch to the 'ON' position.
- Open the fuel valve (if applicable).
- Move the choke lever to the 'CLOSED' or 'START' position (for cold starts).
- Pull the recoil starter handle firmly until the engine starts.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the 'OPEN' or 'RUN' position.
5.2 Using Nozzles and Cleaning Techniques
The pressure washer comes with four quick-connect nozzles, each designed for specific tasks:
- 0° (Red): Pin-point jet for intense spot cleaning and stubborn stains. Use with extreme caution.
- 25° (Green): Fan spray for general cleaning of most surfaces.
- 40° (White): Wide fan spray for delicate surfaces like vehicles, windows, and painted surfaces.
- Soap (Black): Low-pressure spray for applying detergent.
To change nozzles, pull back the collar on the spray gun wand, insert the desired nozzle, and release the collar to lock it in place. Always turn off the engine and release pressure before changing nozzles.

5.3 Applying Detergent
To apply detergent, ensure the soap nozzle (black) is installed. The pressure washer will automatically draw detergent from the tank at low pressure. After applying detergent, switch to a high-pressure nozzle (e.g., 25° or 40°) to rinse the surface thoroughly.
5.4 Shutting Down
- Turn off the engine switch.
- Turn off the water supply.
- Squeeze the spray gun trigger to release any remaining pressure in the system.
- Disconnect the garden hose and high-pressure hose.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pressure washer.
6.1 Engine Oil
- Check the engine oil level before each use.
- Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
6.2 Air Filter
- Inspect the air filter every 25 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions.
- Clean or replace the air filter as needed.
6.3 Spark Plug
- Inspect the spark plug annually or every 100 hours.
- Clean or replace if necessary.
6.4 Fuel System
- For long-term storage (over 30 days), drain the fuel tank and carburetor or use a fuel stabilizer.
6.5 Pump Maintenance and Winterization
- After each use, flush the pump with clean water.
- Before storing in freezing temperatures, use a pump protector or RV antifreeze to prevent damage.
