1. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

This function allows you to read and clear codes related to the Check Engine Light and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System).

  1. From the Main Menu, select "Read Codes" or "System Tests" (depending on the specific menu structure).
  2. The device will scan the vehicle's systems for active and pending DTCs.
  3. To clear codes, navigate to "Clear Codes" or "Erase" from the relevant menu. Confirm the action when prompted. Clearing codes will turn off the Check Engine Light, but the underlying issue must be resolved to prevent the light from reappearing.

2. Oil Light Reset

After an oil change, use this function to reset the vehicle's oil service reminder light.

  • Navigate to "Service Reset" or "Oil Light Reset" from the Main Menu.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reset procedure.

3. Battery/Alternator System Check

Assess the health of your vehicle's battery and charging system.

  • Select "Battery/Alternator Test" from the Main Menu.
  • The device will guide you through steps to test the battery voltage and alternator output.

4. Live Data Streaming

Monitor various vehicle parameters in real-time, such as engine RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, and more.

  • Choose "Live Data" from the Main Menu.
  • Select the parameters you wish to monitor. Data will be displayed numerically or graphically.

5. Freeze Frame Data

When a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set, the vehicle's computer records a snapshot of operating conditions at that moment. This is called Freeze Frame Data.

  • Access "Freeze Frame" from the diagnostic menu to view these recorded parameters, which can help in diagnosing intermittent issues.

6. Multilingual Support

The ZR8s supports multiple languages, including English, French, and Spanish.

  • To change the language, navigate to "Settings" or "System Setup" from the Main Menu and select "Language".

7. Repair Solutions 2 App

A free Repair Solutions 2 app is included with your purchase. This app can provide additional diagnostic information and repair solutions based on the codes read by your ZR8s device. Refer to the app's instructions for pairing and usage.
