Nitecore HU2000 2000 Lumen Work Headlamp

Overview

The Nitecore HU2000 is a high-performance work headlamp designed for demanding environments, offering a powerful 2000-lumen output and versatile lighting options. Its split-style design allows for compatibility with external USB-C power sources, ensuring extended runtime and comfortable wear. Equipped with both white and red LEDs, it is suitable for industrial maintenance, search and rescue operations, and various outdoor activities.

Setup

The HU2000 features a split-style design for enhanced comfort and extended power options. To set up your headlamp:

1. Attach Headband: Securely attach the headlamp unit to the included headband. The headband is designed for comfortable and stable wear.
2. Connect External Power Source: The HU2000 is compatible with external USB-C power sources (not included). Use the provided USB-C extension cable to connect the headlamp to a power bank. The hook-and-loop strap can be used to secure the power bank.
3. Optional Clip Attachment: For alternative carrying, attach the included clip to the headlamp unit. This allows you to clip the headlamp to backpacks, clothing, or other gear.

Operating Instructions

The Nitecore HU2000 features intuitive controls for easy operation.

Power On/Off and Brightness Levels (White Light)

• To Turn On: Press and hold the Power Button for 1 second. The white light will activate in Low mode.
• To Cycle Brightness: When the white light is on, short press the Power Button to cycle through Low, Mid, and High brightness levels.
• To Access Turbo Mode: Double press the Power Button when the light is on. Turbo mode (2000 lumens) is only available when using a power bank with an output of 20W or higher that supports PD protocol.
• To Turn Off: Press and hold the Power Button or Mode Button for 1 second.

Red Light Operation

• To Activate Red Light: Long press the Mode Button for 1 second to switch to Red Light mode.
• To Cycle Red Brightness: When the red light is on, short press the Power Button to cycle through Red Low, Red High, and Red Slow Flashing.

Special Modes (SOS and Beacon)

• To Activate SOS Mode: Double press the Mode Button.
• To Switch to Beacon Mode: While in SOS mode, short press the Power Button.
• To Return to Regular Operation: Double press the Mode Button again.

Lockout Mode

• To Lock: Long press both the Power and Mode Buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds until the headlamp blinks 3 times. In lockout mode, all brightness levels and special modes are unavailable.
• To Unlock: Long press both buttons for 2 seconds again. The headlamp will activate in Emergency mode.

• High Brightness: Achieves 2000 lumens with a wide coverage of 174 yards, providing both wide flood lighting and focused spotlighting.
• Versatile Lighting: Features a primary white LED with 5 brightness levels (including SOS and beacon) and an auxiliary red light with 3 modes (low, high, slow flashing) for night vision preservation and signaling.
• Extended Runtime: When connected to an external power source like the NB10000 Gen3, the HU2000 can run up to 66 hours on its lowest mode.
• Durable Construction: Crafted from durable PC material and die-casted aluminum, rated IP68 waterproof, and impact resistant up to 1 meter.
• Power Source Switching: Automatically switches to the built-in battery if the external power source runs low, and back to external power when a new source is connected.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Nitecore HU2000 headlamp, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Wipe the headlamp body and lens with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or optics.
• Storage: Store the headlamp in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, ensure any connected external power banks are fully charged or removed.
• Water Resistance: While rated IP68 waterproof, ensure the USB-C port cover is securely closed when exposed to water to maintain water resistance.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Nitecore HU2000, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Headlamp Not Turning On:
  • Ensure the headlamp is not in lockout mode (refer to Operating Instructions).
  • Verify that the external USB-C power source is charged and properly connected.
  • If using the internal battery (when external power is disconnected), ensure it has sufficient charge.
• Light Output is Low or Flickering:
  • Check the charge level of your external power source or internal battery.
  • Ensure the USB-C connection is secure and clean.
  • If in Turbo mode, the headlamp may step down brightness to prevent overheating, which is normal operation.
• Buttons Unresponsive:
  • Confirm the headlamp is not in lockout mode.
  • Clean any debris around the buttons.
