3. Motherboard Installation

  • Ensure the motherboard standoffs are correctly aligned for your ATX motherboard. Adjust if necessary.
  • Install the I/O shield into the rear opening of the cabinet.
  • Carefully place the motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes.
  • Secure the motherboard with the provided screws. Do not overtighten.

4. Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation

  • Slide the PSU into its designated compartment, usually at the bottom rear of the case.
  • Align the screw holes and secure the PSU with screws from the rear of the cabinet.

5. Storage Drive Installation

  • SSD Installation: Locate the dedicated SSD mounting points (typically behind the motherboard tray or in drive cages). Secure the SSD using the appropriate screws.
  • HDD Installation: If applicable, install 3.5-inch HDDs into the drive cages, securing them with screws or tool-less mechanisms.

6. PCI Expansion Card Installation

  • Remove the necessary PCI slot covers from the rear of the cabinet.
  • Insert your expansion card (e.g., graphics card) into the corresponding PCI-E slot on the motherboard.
  • Secure the card with a screw or retention clip.

7. Cable Management

Utilize the cable routing cutouts and tie-down points behind the motherboard tray to manage cables. This improves airflow and aesthetics.

8. Connecting Front Panel Cables

Connect the front panel cables (USB 2.0, USB 3.0, audio, power switch, reset switch, LED indicators) to their respective headers on the motherboard. Refer to your motherboard manual for exact pin configurations.

Operation

1. Initial Power On

  • After all components are installed and cables connected, replace the side panels.
  • Connect the power cable to the PSU and a wall outlet.
  • Press the power button on the front panel of the cabinet.

2. RGB Fan Control

The ICEMASTER Shadow cabinet comes with four pre-installed RGB fans. The RGB lighting can typically be controlled via a dedicated button on the front panel (if present), or through motherboard software if the fans are connected to an RGB header on your motherboard. Refer to your motherboard manual for software control options.

3. USB Port Usage

The front panel provides 2 USB 2.0 ports and 1 USB 3.0 port for connecting peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and external storage devices. Ensure proper drivers are installed for optimal performance of USB 3.0 devices.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning Dust Filters

The cabinet is equipped with dust filters to prevent dust accumulation inside. Regularly check and clean these filters (typically located at the front, top, and/or bottom) to maintain optimal airflow and cooling performance. Remove filters, gently brush off dust, or rinse with water and allow to dry completely before reinstallation.

2. General Cleaning

  • Exterior: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces, including the tempered glass panel. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Interior: Periodically use compressed air to remove dust from internal components and fan blades. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning the interior.

3. Fan Maintenance

Ensure all fans are spinning freely and quietly. If a fan becomes noisy or stops working, inspect for obstructions or consider replacement if necessary.

Troubleshooting

1. System Does Not Power On

  • Verify the power cable is securely connected to both the PSU and the wall outlet.
  • Ensure the PSU's power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Check all internal power connections, especially the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU power cables to the motherboard.
  • Confirm the front panel power switch cable is correctly connected to the motherboard header.

2. Fans Not Spinning / RGB Not Lighting Up

  • Check fan power connections to the motherboard or fan controller.
  • Ensure RGB cables are properly connected to the motherboard's RGB header or the integrated RGB controller.
  • Verify that the RGB control button (if present) is functioning.

3. USB Ports Not Functioning

  • Ensure the front panel USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 cables are securely connected to their respective headers on the motherboard.
  • Check motherboard BIOS settings for USB port enablement.
  • Test with different USB devices.

4. Overheating Issues

  • Ensure all case fans are operating correctly and oriented for optimal airflow (intake/exhaust).
  • Clean dust filters and internal components regularly.
  • Verify CPU cooler and GPU cooler are properly installed and functioning.
