Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your WildFinder Hard Shell Rooftop Tent. Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation to ensure proper functionality and safety. Retain this manual for future reference.
Safety Information
- Always ensure the tent is securely mounted to your vehicle's roof rack or crossbars according to the installation instructions.
- Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of your vehicle's roof rack or the tent itself.
- Exercise caution when opening and closing the tent, especially in windy conditions.
- Keep hands and fingers clear of moving parts during operation.
- Ensure the ladder is stable and properly extended before use.
- Do not use the tent in severe weather conditions beyond its specified limits (e.g., extreme winds, heavy snow loads).
Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the safety and performance of your rooftop tent. It is recommended that two people perform the initial installation.
Mounting the Tent
- Ensure your vehicle has a compatible roof rack or crossbar system capable of supporting the tent's weight (approximately 169.4 lbs net weight).
- Carefully lift the tent onto the vehicle's roof rack. Position it centrally and align the tent's mounting rails with your crossbars.
- Utilize the included mounting brackets and hardware to secure the tent to the crossbars. Tighten all bolts evenly and securely. Refer to the 'Full Sliding Rail Design' for accessory attachment.
- Double-check all connections before driving.

Deploying the Tent (Quick Open in 30 Seconds)
- Unlatch the security latches located around the tent's hard shell.
- Gently push up the top shell. The stainless steel air pressure levers will assist in lifting the tent into its open position.
- Install the rain canopy support rods as needed for additional weather protection and awning functionality.
- Extend the telescoping ladder and secure it to the tent's entry point. Ensure the ladder is stable on the ground before climbing.

Operating the Tent
Interior Features
- Mattress: The tent includes a 5cm non-deforming mattress for comfort. A recessed marine pad reduces humidity, and a condensation pad prevents moisture buildup.
- Ventilation: The tent features three mesh windows for airflow and insect protection. These can be opened or closed as needed.
- LED Strip: A user-friendly LED light strip with a USB connection is integrated for interior illumination. Connect a power bank (not included) to activate.
- Storage: The tent is equipped with 6 top storage pockets, including a clear pocket suitable for a tablet, and 4 side storage pockets for personal items.

Closing the Tent
Closing the tent requires careful attention to ensure all fabric is properly tucked in before latching the hard shell.
- Remove all personal items from the tent interior.
- Collapse the rain canopy support rods and store them.
- Carefully push down the top shell. As the shell lowers, systematically tuck in all tent fabric to prevent it from being pinched or damaged by the closing shell. This step may require two people.
- Once the shell is fully closed, secure all latches firmly.
- Retract and store the telescoping ladder in its designated bag.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the lifespan of your WildFinder Rooftop Tent.
- Cleaning: The tent fabric should be hand washed. Use mild soap and water for cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: After use, especially in wet conditions, ensure the tent is thoroughly dried and aired out before closing and storing. This prevents mold, mildew, and unpleasant odors. If the tent gets wet during transport, open and air it out on a sunny day upon arrival.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the tent fabric, zippers, latches, and mounting hardware for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Address any issues promptly.
- Seals: Check the seals around the hard shell for integrity. If rain seepage occurs, inspect the seals for damage or misalignment.
- Ladder: Keep the telescoping ladder clean and ensure all locking mechanisms function smoothly.
Troubleshooting
- Condensation Inside Tent: This is common in varying temperatures. Ensure adequate ventilation by opening windows or vents. The built-in condensation pad helps mitigate this.
- Rain Seepage During Driving: If rain seeps in while driving, inspect the tent's seals when closed. Ensure all fabric is properly tucked in and the latches are fully secured. Consider adding an external cover if persistent.
- Difficulty Closing Tent: Ensure all internal items are removed and all fabric is carefully tucked into the shell as it lowers. This often requires two people to manage the fabric effectively.
- Ladder Instability: Ensure the ladder is fully extended and locked into place, with its feet firmly on level ground. Adjust the angle for optimal stability.
