1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the KidsZone 360° Swivel Isofix Car Seat Model 946i. This car seat is designed to provide safety and comfort for your child from birth up to approximately 12 years of age, covering weight groups 0-36 kg and height ranges 40-150 cm. Please read this manual carefully before installation and use to ensure correct operation and maximum safety for your child.

2. Safety Guidelines

Always prioritize your child's safety. Adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Ensure the car seat is correctly installed according to this manual before every journey.
  • Never leave your child unattended in the car seat.
  • Always secure your child with the 5-point harness or vehicle seat belt, ensuring it is snug and free of twists.
  • Do not use the car seat if it has been involved in an accident, even if there is no visible damage. Replace it immediately.
  • Read your vehicle's owner manual for specific car seat installation instructions and compatible seating positions.
  • Do not modify the car seat in any way. Use only original KidsZone replacement parts if needed.
  • Remove the infant insert when your child no longer requires it for proper fit.

3. Product Components

The KidsZone 360° Swivel Isofix Car Seat consists of the following main components:

  • Car Seat Shell: The main structure providing protection.
  • Base with 360° Rotation: Allows easy access and orientation changes.
  • ISOFIX Connectors: Extendable arms for secure attachment to vehicle's ISOFIX anchors.
  • Top Tether Strap: Additional anchor point for enhanced stability in forward-facing mode.
  • 5-Point Harness System: For securing infants and toddlers.
  • Adjustable Headrest: Provides head and neck support, adjustable to 9 positions.
  • Recline Adjustment Lever: For selecting one of 5 recline positions.

4. Installation

4.1. ISOFIX and Top Tether Connection

The car seat features ISOFIX connectors and a Top Tether strap for stable installation. Visual indicators confirm correct attachment.

  1. Locate the ISOFIX anchor points in your vehicle's back seat.
  2. Extend the ISOFIX connectors from the car seat base by pressing the release buttons (if applicable).
  3. Align and push the ISOFIX connectors onto the vehicle's ISOFIX anchors until they click into place. Check that the visual indicators turn green.
  4. Push the car seat firmly against the vehicle's backrest to remove any slack.
  5. For forward-facing installation, attach the Top Tether strap to the designated anchor point in your vehicle and tighten it until the indicator shows green.

4.2. Rear-Facing Installation (40-105 cm, up to 18 kg)

This orientation is mandatory for infants and recommended for as long as possible.

  1. Ensure the car seat is rotated to the rear-facing position.
  2. Install the car seat using the ISOFIX connectors as described in Section 4.1. The Top Tether is not used in rear-facing mode.
  3. Adjust the recline to the rear-facing position (1 position available) for optimal comfort and safety.
  4. Place your child in the seat and secure them with the 5-point harness.

4.3. Forward-Facing Installation (76-150 cm, 9-36 kg)

This orientation is suitable for toddlers and older children.

  1. Rotate the car seat to the forward-facing position.
  2. Install the car seat using the ISOFIX connectors and the Top Tether strap as described in Section 4.1.
  3. Adjust the recline to one of the 4 forward-facing positions.
  4. For children 76-105 cm (up to 18 kg), secure them with the 5-point harness.
  5. For children 100-150 cm (15-36 kg), remove the 5-point harness and secure the child using the vehicle's 3-point seat belt. Ensure the vehicle belt passes correctly through the designated guides on the car seat.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. 360° Rotation

The car seat features a 360° swivel base for easy access and changing orientation.

  1. Ensure the car seat is not reclined to its maximum position before rotating.
  2. Locate the rotation release lever, usually at the front of the base.
  3. Pull the lever and rotate the seat to the desired position (rear-facing, forward-facing, or side-facing for loading/unloading).
  4. Release the lever and ensure the seat locks securely into place.

5.2. Recline Positions

The car seat offers 4 forward-facing recline positions and 1 rear-facing recline position.

  1. Locate the recline adjustment lever, typically at the front or side of the seat base.
  2. Pull the lever and adjust the seat to the desired recline angle.
  3. Release the lever and ensure the seat locks firmly in the chosen position.

5.3. Harness Adjustment (5-Point Harness)

The 5-point harness secures your child safely.

  1. Place your child in the car seat.
  2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and connect the buckle tongues into the central buckle until they click.
  3. Pull the harness adjustment strap (usually located at the front of the seat) to tighten the harness until it is snug against your child's body, without pinching.
  4. To loosen the harness, press the harness release button (under a flap) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.

5.4. Headrest Adjustment

The headrest is adjustable to 9 positions to accommodate your child's growth.

  1. Locate the headrest adjustment lever, typically at the top rear of the headrest.
  2. Squeeze the lever and simultaneously pull up or push down the headrest to the desired height.
  3. Ensure the shoulder straps are at or just below your child's shoulders when rear-facing, and at or just above their shoulders when forward-facing.
  4. Release the lever and ensure the headrest locks securely in place.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Fabric Cover

The fabric cover is removable and machine washable.

  1. Carefully remove the fabric cover from the car seat. Refer to the diagrams in the full manual for specific removal steps.
  2. Machine wash the cover at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron.
  3. Allow the cover to air dry completely before reattaching it to the car seat.

6.2. Cleaning the Car Seat Shell and Harness

Clean the plastic parts and harness with a damp cloth and mild soap.

  • Wipe down the plastic shell with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Clean the harness straps with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse the harness in water or machine wash, as this can weaken the webbing.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or using the car seat.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Car seat feels loose after installation: Ensure ISOFIX connectors are fully engaged (green indicators visible) and the Top Tether (if used) is tightened. Push the seat firmly into the vehicle's backrest.
  • Harness is difficult to tighten/loosen: Check for twists in the harness straps. Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening.
  • Seat does not rotate: Ensure the recline is not in its maximum position. Check that the rotation release lever is fully engaged.
  • Headrest does not adjust: Ensure the adjustment lever is fully squeezed. Check for any obstructions.
  • Child seems uncomfortable: Verify the headrest and harness are adjusted to the correct height for your child. Ensure the infant insert is used for smaller children and removed when no longer needed.
