4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the flash unit. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, which can damage the surface or electronic components.
4.2 Battery Care
To prolong battery life, store the lithium-ion battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures. If the flash will not be used for an extended period, it is recommended to remove the battery.
4.3 Firmware Updates
Firmware updates may be released to improve performance or add new features. These updates can be installed via the USB Type-C port on the flash unit. Refer to the NEEWER official website for the latest firmware and instructions.
5. Troubleshooting
- Flash not firing:
- Ensure the battery is charged and correctly installed.
- Check that the flash is securely mounted on the camera's hot shoe.
- Verify camera and flash settings are compatible (e.g., flash enabled, correct mode selected). - Inconsistent exposure:
- In TTL mode, ensure the subject is within the effective flash range.
- In Manual mode, adjust the flash power output as needed.
- Check for any obstructions between the flash and the subject. - Wireless connection issues:
- Confirm that the master and slave units are set to the same group, channel, and ID.
- Reduce the distance between the units and ensure no major obstructions.
- Check battery levels on both transmitter and receiver units. - Flash head not moving smoothly:
- Ensure no debris is obstructing the swivel or tilt mechanisms.
- Do not force the flash head if resistance is met.
