Setup
1. Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the console. Connect the provided USB-C charge cable to the left USB-C port (marked "DC") on the console and to a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will illuminate. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.
Important: Use a standard 5V/1.5A charger. Avoid leaving the unit on charge for extended periods (e.g., overnight) or using high-powered fast chargers, as this may affect battery longevity.

2. Inserting MicroSD Cards
The R36S supports two MicroSD card slots:
- TF1 (OS+Games): This slot typically contains the operating system and pre-loaded games.

Ensure MicroSD cards are properly inserted into their respective slots before powering on the device. The console comes with one SD card pre-installed in the TF1 slot.
3. Powering On/Off
To power on, press and hold the Power button located on the top right side of the console until the screen illuminates. To power off, navigate to the system menu and select the shutdown option, or press and hold the Power button until the device shuts down.

Maintenance
1. Screen Care
Use the provided screen protector to prevent scratches. Clean the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
2. Battery Care
To maximize battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the console when the battery level is low. Store the console in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
3. MicroSD Card Management
The quality of the included MicroSD card can vary. It is recommended to back up the contents of the original SD card and consider replacing it with a reputable brand for improved performance and reliability. When adding or removing games, always ensure the console is powered off to prevent data corruption.
Troubleshooting
- Console does not power on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the console to a power source and try again. If the issue persists, try a different USB-C cable or power adapter.
- Screen issues (e.g., screen coming loose): Some users have reported the screen adhesive weakening, especially with heat. If the screen becomes loose, it may require re-securing with appropriate adhesive. Exercise caution to avoid damaging internal components.
- Games not loading or system instability: This is often related to the MicroSD card.
- Ensure the MicroSD card is properly seated in the TF1 slot.
- The included MicroSD cards can be unreliable. Consider replacing them with high-quality, branded MicroSD cards.
- If replacing the card, you will need to flash an operating system (like ArkOS) and transfer game ROMs. Numerous online guides and communities can assist with this process.
- Performance issues (lagging games): While the R36S is capable, some demanding games (e.g., certain PS1 or PSP titles) may experience performance issues due to hardware limitations. Ensure your game files are optimized for the system.
- No Wi-Fi: The R36S does not have built-in Wi-Fi. Internet connectivity for updates or game transfers typically requires connecting the MicroSD card to a computer.
