  • Outer Housing: The main body of the roaster, containing the heating element and control panel.
  • Removable Roasting Pan: A large, non-stick inner pan where food is placed for cooking. This pan is removable for easy cleaning.
  • Roasting Rack: A metal rack designed to elevate food within the roasting pan, allowing for even cooking and drippings collection.
  • Lid: Features a handle and is designed to seal in heat and moisture. The self-basting lid continually circulates moisture for tender results.
  • Control Knob: Used to select temperature settings and functions (Keep Warm, Defrost, 150°F to 450°F).
  • Indicator Light: Illuminates when the heating element is active.

3. Initial Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials, including any internal packing.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash the removable roasting pan and roasting rack in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the outer housing with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the outer housing in water.
  3. First Use (Burn-off): It is recommended to perform an initial "burn-off" cycle to eliminate any manufacturing odors.
    • Place the empty roasting pan and rack inside the outer housing.
    • Secure the lid.
    • Plug the roaster into a grounded electrical outlet.
    • Turn the control knob to 450°F and let it operate for approximately 30-60 minutes.
    • Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this process. A slight odor or smoke may be present; this is normal.
    • After the burn-off, turn the control knob to "Off" and unplug the unit. Allow it to cool completely before handling.
  4. Placement: Position the roaster on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or other appliances to allow for proper ventilation.
