4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Activation Before Use

Before installing, the detector must be activated. Press and hold the center of the top cover for 6 seconds until the LED indicator lights up and you hear a beep. This confirms the device is active and ready for use.

4.2. Mounting the Detector

The HATHEPHS 2-in-1 detector offers two convenient installation methods:

  1. Adhesive Tape Installation:
    • Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
    • Peel off the protective film from one side of the adhesive tape and firmly attach it to the back of the detector's mounting bracket.
    • Peel off the remaining protective film from the other side of the adhesive tape.
    • Press the detector firmly onto the desired wall or RV surface for at least 30 seconds.
  2. Screw and Anchor Plug Installation:
    • Position the mounting bracket on the desired surface and mark the screw holes.
    • Drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
    • Insert the anchor plugs into the drilled holes.
    • Align the mounting bracket with the holes and secure it with the provided screws.
    • Attach the detector to the mounted bracket by twisting it clockwise until it locks into place.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Testing the Alarm

It is recommended to test your alarm weekly to ensure it is functioning correctly. To test, simply press the entire top cover of the detector. The alarm will sound, indicating proper operation. If the alarm does not sound, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

5.2. Muting the Alarm

In case of a nuisance alarm (e.g., from cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm by pressing the top cover. The alarm will mute for a short period before resetting. If the hazardous condition persists, the alarm will reactivate.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning Your Detector

Dust and debris can affect the performance of your detector. Gently vacuum the detector's vents and cover monthly using a soft brush attachment. Do not use cleaning solvents or sprays directly on the unit.

6.2. Battery Information

This detector is equipped with a sealed 10-year lithium battery. The battery is designed to last the entire lifespan of the alarm under normal operating conditions, eliminating the need for battery replacement. If the low battery warning sounds, the unit should be replaced.

7. Troubleshooting

If your alarm is not functioning as expected, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
