Setup

1. Battery Installation

The handset requires 2 AAA rechargeable batteries (included). Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Slide the cover downwards to open.
  3. Insert the two AAA rechargeable batteries, observing the + and - markings.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.
  5. Place the handset on its charger for at least 7 hours for the initial charge.

2. Registering the Handset to the Base Unit

This extra handset must be registered to a compatible Panasonic KX-TGU130 or KX-TGU110 series base unit before use. Refer to your base unit's manual for specific registration instructions, as the process may vary slightly.

  • Ensure the base unit is powered on and within range.
  • On the base unit, typically press and hold the LOCATOR or HANDSET LOCATOR button until a registration tone sounds.
  • On the new handset, access the menu and navigate to the "Registration" or "Register Handset" option.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the registration. You may need to enter a PIN (default is usually 0000).
  • A confirmation message will appear on the handset display once registration is successful.

Operating Instructions

Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Dial the phone number using the large illuminated keys, then press the Talk button (green receiver icon).
  • To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, press the Talk button.
  • To End a Call: Press the End button (red receiver icon).

Display and Navigation

The handset features a large 1.8-inch FullDot monochrome backlit display, providing clear and legible information even in low light conditions.

  • Menu Navigation: Use the navigation buttons (up/down arrows) to scroll through menu options. Press the OK or Select button (center button) to confirm selections.
  • Back/Clear: The button typically marked with a back arrow or "C" allows you to go back to the previous screen or clear entered characters.

Volume Adjustment

During a call, you can adjust the receiver volume. This handset offers an improved volume, capable of reaching up to twice the volume of standard Panasonic DECT phones (KX-TG68 series).

  • While on a call, press the Volume Up or Volume Down buttons (usually located on the side or as part of the navigation cluster) to adjust the listening volume.

Fav Call Feature

The Fav Call feature allows you to instantly recognize calls from up to 3 favorite contacts. When a call comes from a registered favorite contact, the intuitive Fav call key will flash, providing a quick visual reminder (requires caller ID service from your provider).

  • To set up Fav Call contacts, navigate through the handset's menu to the "Fav Call" or "Favorite Contacts" settings.
