1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the DESOBRY SS1022B Soundbar. This compact and powerful sound system is designed to enhance your audio experience for TVs, PCs, and other devices. It offers multiple wired and wireless connection options, including HDMI (ARC), Optical, Coaxial, AUX, USB, and Bluetooth 5.1, along with three distinct EQ modes to optimize sound for various content types. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper setup and operation.

2. Safety Information

To ensure safe operation and prevent damage, please observe the following safety precautions:

  • Do not expose the soundbar to rain, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Use only the provided power adapter.

  • Keep the soundbar away from strong magnetic fields.

The rear panel includes the following ports:

  • HDMI (ARC): For connecting to a TV with Audio Return Channel support.
  • AUX: 3.5mm audio input for analog devices.
  • COAXIAL: Digital audio input.
  • OPTICAL: Digital audio input.
  • USB: For playing audio from USB storage devices.
  • DC IN: Power input for the adapter.

The remote control allows you to manage power, volume, input source, and sound modes. Ensure the remote has working batteries and is pointed towards the soundbar's front sensor.

4. Setup

Placement

Place the soundbar on a stable, flat surface, such as a TV stand or shelf, directly in front of your television. Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the soundbar to allow for optimal sound projection. The compact size (41cm length) makes it suitable for various setups.

Power Connection

  1. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the rear of the soundbar.
  2. Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. The soundbar will enter standby mode, indicated by an LED light.

5. Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Press the Power button on the remote control or on the soundbar unit to turn the device on or off.

Volume Control

Use the Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) buttons on the remote control or the soundbar unit to adjust the volume level.

Input Source Selection

Press the 'Input' or 'Source' button on the remote control or the soundbar unit to cycle through available input sources (HDMI ARC, Optical, Coaxial, AUX, USB, Bluetooth).

EQ Modes

The soundbar features three equalizer (EQ) modes to optimize audio for different content:

  • Music Mode: Enhanced for musical playback.
  • Movie Mode (3D): Provides a more immersive sound experience for films.
  • News Mode (Standard): Optimizes vocal clarity for news and dialogue.

Press the 'EQ' button on the remote control to switch between these modes.

6. Connections

HDMI (ARC) Connection

For optimal convenience and control, connect your TV to the soundbar using the HDMI (ARC) port.

  1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI (ARC) port on the soundbar.
  2. Connect the other end to the HDMI (ARC) port on your TV.
  3. On your TV's settings, ensure HDMI ARC is enabled and the audio output is set to PCM. Refer to your TV's manual for specific instructions.

Optical Connection

Use an optical cable for high-quality digital audio transmission if your TV or device has an optical output.

  1. Connect one end of the optical cable to the OPTICAL port on the soundbar.
  2. Connect the other end to the optical output port on your TV or audio source.
  3. On your TV's settings, ensure the digital audio output is set to PCM.

Coaxial Connection

Connect devices with a coaxial digital audio output.

  1. Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the COAXIAL port on the soundbar.
  2. Connect the other end to the coaxial output port on your audio source.

AUX Connection

For analog audio devices, use the AUX input.

  1. Connect one end of the 3.5mm AUX cable to the AUX port on the soundbar.
  2. Connect the other end to the headphone jack or AUX output of your device (e.g., smartphone, PC).

USB Connection

Play audio files directly from a USB storage device.

  1. Insert a USB flash drive (formatted to FAT32) into the USB port on the soundbar.
  2. The soundbar will automatically switch to USB input and begin playing compatible audio files.

Bluetooth Pairing

Connect your Bluetooth-enabled devices wirelessly to the soundbar.

  1. Press the 'Input' button on the remote or soundbar until 'BT' is displayed, indicating Bluetooth mode. The soundbar will enter pairing mode.
  2. On your device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select 'DESOBRY SS1022B' from the list.
  4. Once paired, the soundbar will indicate a successful connection, and you can play audio from your device.
