This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.

2. Safety Instructions
- Do not store emergency keys inside the safe. Always keep the emergency keys in a secure location outside the safe, accessible only to authorized individuals.
- Keep your PIN confidential. Do not share your personal identification number (PIN) with unauthorized persons.
- Avoid exposing the safe to extreme temperatures or humidity. This can damage the electronic components and affect the safe's functionality.
- Ensure proper battery installation. Incorrect battery polarity can cause damage to the electronic lock.
- Mount the safe securely. For maximum security, always utilize the pre-drilled mounting holes to anchor the safe to a wall or floor.
3. Package Contents

4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the safe door.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover.
4.2 Initial PIN Setup
Upon first use, or after battery replacement, you will need to set your personal PIN.
- With the safe door open, locate the red reset button on the inside of the door, near the hinge.
- Press the red reset button. You will hear a beep, and the yellow indicator light on the keypad will illuminate.
- Within 5 seconds, enter your desired 3 to 8 digit PIN on the keypad.
- Confirm your PIN by pressing the "#" button. You will hear a confirmation beep.
- Test the new PIN with the door open to ensure it works correctly before closing the safe.
4.3 Mounting the Safe
For enhanced security, it is highly recommended to mount the safe to a wall or floor using the provided bolt anchors.
- Choose a suitable location for mounting, such as a solid wall or floor.
- Identify the pre-drilled holes on the back and bottom of the safe.
- Position the safe and mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes.
- Drill holes at the marked points using an appropriate drill bit for your wall/floor material.
- Align the safe with the drilled holes and insert the bolt anchors.
- Tighten the bolt anchors securely to fasten the safe in place.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Opening the Safe with PIN
- Enter your 3 to 8 digit PIN on the keypad.
- Press the "#" button. The green indicator light will illuminate.
- Within 5 seconds, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
5.2 Opening the Safe with Emergency Key
The emergency key provides access if you forget your PIN or if the batteries are depleted.
- Locate the concealed keyhole, usually behind the ECD Germany logo plate or a removable cover on the keypad.
- Insert the emergency key into the keyhole and turn it counter-clockwise.
- While holding the key turned, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.
- Remove the key once the door is open.
5.3 Changing the PIN
You can change your PIN at any time while the safe door is open.
- With the safe door open, press the red reset button on the inside of the door.
- The yellow indicator light will illuminate.
- Enter your new 3 to 8 digit PIN.
- Confirm your new PIN by pressing the "#" button.
- Test the new PIN with the door open before closing.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
When the batteries are low, the red indicator light on the keypad may flash or the safe may not respond. Replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation.
- Open the safe using your PIN or the emergency key.
- Locate and open the battery compartment on the inside of the door.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
- Insert 4 new AA batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment.
6.2 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the powder-coated finish.
6.3 Internal Protection
The safe includes a protective felt mat on the inside to prevent scratches and damage to your valuables. Ensure this mat is properly placed. The removable intermediate shelf can be adjusted or removed to accommodate items of various sizes.

7. Troubleshooting
- Safe does not open with PIN:
- Ensure you are entering the correct PIN. Try again carefully.
- Check if the batteries are low. Replace them if necessary.
- Use the emergency key to open the safe. - Keypad is unresponsive:
- Replace the batteries with new ones.
- Ensure the battery compartment is closed securely. - Door does not close properly:
- Check for any obstructions preventing the door from closing fully.
- Ensure the locking bolts are retracted before attempting to close. - Forgotten PIN:
- Use the emergency key to open the safe.
- Once open, reset the PIN using the red reset button as described in Section 4.2.
