3. Chain Tension Adjustment

The Decerk Mini Chainsaw features tool-free chain tension adjustment. Simply rotate the knob on the side of the chainsaw to tighten or loosen the chain. A properly tensioned warm chain's drive links should hang approximately 0.050 inches (1.3 mm) from the bar groove.

4. Adding Lubricating Oil

Locate the transparent oil reservoir (max 30ml) and use the provided funnel to add appropriate chainsaw lubricating oil. Press the bulb to deliver oil to the blade and chain, which helps reduce friction and extends chain life. Ensure the reservoir is not overfilled and the cap is securely closed.

Operating Instructions

Starting the Chainsaw

To activate the chainsaw, you must simultaneously press the safety lock button and then squeeze the trigger. Release the safety lock button once the chainsaw starts. Always maintain a firm grip with both hands, or one hand if using the ambidextrous design, ensuring proper balance.

Cutting Techniques

Position the chainsaw firmly against the material to be cut. Apply steady, even pressure. The brushless motor delivers a chain speed of 32.8 ft/s, allowing for efficient cutting of branches up to 6 inches in diameter in 4-6 seconds. Avoid forcing the saw, let the chain do the work. For larger branches, make multiple cuts if necessary.

Maintenance

Cleaning

After each use, disconnect the battery and use the provided cleaning brush to remove sawdust, debris, and sap from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing. Ensure ventilation slots are clear to prevent overheating.

Chain Lubrication

Regularly check the oil level in the transparent reservoir and refill as needed. The automatic oiling system ensures continuous lubrication during operation, but manual checks are essential to prevent chain wear and maintain cutting efficiency.

Battery Care

Charge the lithium-ion batteries using the provided quick charger. The batteries feature self-overload and temperature protection for extended life. Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, it is recommended to charge batteries to about 50% capacity.
