Setup and Installation
The HATHEPHS alarm offers quick and straightforward installation using either adhesive tape or screws.

Activation Before Use:
- Before mounting, press and hold the center of the top cover for approximately 10 seconds.
- The LED indicator will light up, and you will hear a beep, indicating the device is activated and ready for use.
Installation Steps:
Choose one of the following installation methods:
Method 1: Adhesive Tape Installation (More convenient)
- Ensure the mounting surface (wall or ceiling) is clean, dry, and smooth.
- Peel the protective backing from the adhesive tape.
- Attach the adhesive tape firmly to the back of the mounting bracket.
- Press the mounting bracket firmly onto the desired installation location for at least 30 seconds.
- Align the alarm with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.
Method 2: Screw Installation (More secure)
- Choose a suitable installation location.
- Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the positions for the screw holes on the wall or ceiling.
- Drill holes at the marked positions and insert the provided anchors (if installing into drywall or plaster).
- Secure the mounting bracket to the surface using the provided screws.
- Align the alarm with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.

Recommended Placement:
- Install at least one alarm on every level of your home, including basements and attics.
- For optimal smoke detection, install alarms in hallways outside sleeping areas and in living rooms.
- For optimal carbon monoxide detection, install alarms near sleeping areas and in rooms where fuel-burning appliances are located.
- Avoid installing near windows, doors, or vents where drafts could interfere with detection.
- Avoid installing in kitchens or bathrooms where steam or cooking fumes could cause false alarms.
Operating Instructions
Testing the Alarm:
It is recommended to test your alarm weekly to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Press and hold the large test/silence button (the entire top cover) for a few seconds.
- The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating tone, and the LED indicator will flash.
- Release the button. The alarm should stop.
- If the alarm does not sound or the LED does not flash, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

Silencing a Nuisance Alarm:
If the alarm sounds due to non-emergency conditions (e.g., cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence it.
- Press the large test/silence button once.
- The alarm will enter a temporary silence mode for approximately 9 minutes.
- If the smoke or CO concentration remains high after the silence period, the alarm will reactivate.
