1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Place the machine head on a sturdy, level sewing table. Ensure adequate space for operation and material handling.
  3. Connect the machine to a suitable power source.

4.2 Needle Installation

  1. Ensure the machine is powered off.
  2. Loosen the needle clamp screw.
  3. Insert the new needle (DP*5 16-21# recommended) with the flat side facing away from you, pushing it up as far as it will go.
  4. Tighten the needle clamp screw securely.

4.3 Threading the Machine

Follow the specific threading path indicated on your machine. Generally, this involves guiding the thread through the thread stand, tension discs, take-up lever, and finally through the needle eye.

4.4 Winding the Bobbin

Refer to your machine's specific bobbin winding mechanism. Typically, thread is guided from the spool pin to the bobbin winder tension disc, then around the bobbin, which is placed on the bobbin winder spindle. Engage the winder and allow the bobbin to fill evenly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Sewing Operation

  1. Ensure the machine is properly threaded and the bobbin is correctly inserted.
  2. Place the fabric under the presser foot.
  3. Lower the presser foot using the lever.
  4. Start the machine and gently press the foot pedal to begin sewing. Guide the fabric smoothly.

5.2 Adjusting Stitch Length

The stitch length can be adjusted using the knob located on the side of the machine. Rotate the knob to select the desired stitch length, up to a maximum of 0.3 inches (8mm). Ensure the knob is locked into position after adjustment.

5.3 Reverse Stitching

To reinforce stitches at the beginning and end of a seam, use the reversing rod. Push the rod down to engage reverse stitching, and release it to resume forward stitching.

5.4 Fabric Compatibility

This machine is specifically designed for medium to thick materials. It can effectively sew:

  • Knitted Fabrics (medium-thickness)

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin case, feed dogs, and tension discs using a small brush or lint remover. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.

6.2 Lubrication

The machine features an automatic oil spray device. Periodically check the oil level through the oil check window (refer to Figure 5.2) and refill as necessary with appropriate sewing machine oil to maintain optimal lubrication and reduce noise.

6.3 Needle Replacement

Replace the needle regularly, especially when sewing thick materials, or if it becomes bent, dull, or damaged. A dull needle can cause skipped stitches or damage to fabric.
