5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Twist the cap at the rear of the detector counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Replace the cap by twisting it clockwise until securely closed.

5.2 Initial Power-On and Warm-Up

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Gas Detection

  1. After warm-up, hold the detector with the sensor tip positioned 0.4 to 2.0 inches (1-5 cm) from the suspected leak source.
  2. Slowly move the sensor tip along the area where a leak is suspected (e.g., gas pipes, appliance connections, valves).
  3. The detector has a fast response time of 2-5 seconds.

6.2 Sensitivity Modes

The detector offers two sensitivity modes:

  • High Sensitivity Mode (HI): Detects gas concentrations between 50-500 ppm. Ideal for pinpointing small leaks.

6.3 Interpreting Alarms

When gas is detected, the device will provide both visual and audible alarms:

  • Visual Alarm: The LED indicators will light up, with more bars indicating a higher gas concentration.
  • Audible Alarm: A beeping sound will activate. The frequency and intensity of the beep will increase as the gas concentration rises.

To mute the audible alarm, press the Mute Button (speaker icon with 'X'). Press it again to unmute.

6.4 Automatic Shut Down

For energy efficiency, the device features an automatic shutdown function. If left idle for 5 minutes, it will power off automatically.
