4. Setup and Assembly

4.1 Installing/Removing the Battery

The GKF 18V-8 operates on the Bosch Professional 18V System battery (not included). Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.

  1. To install, slide the charged battery pack into the base of the router until it clicks into place.
  2. To remove, press the release button on the battery pack and slide it out.

  1. Press and hold the spindle lock button to prevent the spindle from rotating.
  2. Loosen the collet nut using the provided wrench.
  3. Insert the routing bit into the collet, ensuring at least 2/3 of the shank is inserted.
  4. Tighten the collet nut firmly with the wrench while holding the spindle lock button.
  5. Release the spindle lock button.

For efficient dust management, attach the appropriate vacuum adaptor.

  1. Select either the surface routing or edge routing vac adaptor based on your task.
  2. Align the adaptor with the designated slots on the router base and snap it into place.
