4. Setup

4.1 Guide Bar and Chain Installation

  1. Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug cap is disconnected.
  2. Remove the chain brake cover by loosening the two nuts.
  3. Place the chain around the clutch drum and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges face forward on the top of the bar.
  4. Align the guide bar with the mounting studs and slide it into place.
  5. Fit the chain over the sprocket on the guide bar tip.
  6. Replace the chain brake cover and hand-tighten the nuts.
  7. Adjust chain tension using the tensioning screw. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled freely around the bar by hand.
  8. Tighten the nuts securely.

4.2 Fuel and Chain Oil Filling

This chainsaw requires a mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil. Refer to the engine oil manufacturer's instructions for the correct mixing ratio, typically 25:1 or 50:1 (gasoline:oil). Use the provided mixing bottle for accurate measurement.

  • Fuel Tank (550 ml / 0.58 qt): Fill with the pre-mixed gasoline and 2-stroke oil.
  • Chain Oil Tank (260 ml / 0.27 qt): Fill with high-quality bar and chain oil. This oil lubricates the chain and guide bar during operation.

5.2 Cutting Techniques

The VEVOR 52 CC Gas Chainsaw offers powerful performance with its 52 cc engine and 2.55 HP, allowing for smooth and jam-free cutting. It can handle a maximum cutting diameter of 430 mm (16.93 inches), making it suitable for various outdoor cutting needs.

  • Felling: Plan your felling direction, clear the area, and make a notch cut followed by a felling cut.
  • Limbing: Remove branches from a felled tree. Work from the base towards the top, supporting the branch to prevent pinching.
  • Bucking: Cut a felled tree into sections. Support the log to prevent pinching and ensure the chain does not hit the ground.
