1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your BAHOOMED 8-inch Mini Cordless Chainsaw, Model DUC-150A. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the chainsaw to ensure proper function and to prevent injury.
2. Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating power tools. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety goggles, gloves, and appropriate clothing (long sleeves, long pants, sturdy footwear) when operating the chainsaw. Hearing protection is also recommended.
- Work Area: Ensure your work area is clear of obstructions, well-lit, and free from bystanders, especially children and pets. Do not operate in wet conditions.
- Secure Grip: Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands during operation.
- Starting Procedure: The chainsaw requires simultaneous pressing of the safety lock button and the start trigger to activate, preventing accidental starts.
- Kickback Prevention: Be aware of the risk of kickback. Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar. Maintain a stable stance.
- Blade Guard: The chainsaw is equipped with a blade guard to minimize wood chip splashing. Ensure it is properly positioned before use.
- Battery Safety: Use only the specified batteries and charger. Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- Maintenance: Disconnect the battery before performing any assembly, cleaning, or maintenance tasks.

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Charging and Installation
- Charge both 4000mAh Lithium-Ion batteries fully before first use. Connect the charger to a power outlet and then to the battery. The charger indicator will show charging status.
- To install a charged battery, align it with the battery slot on the chainsaw handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove the battery, press the release button (if present) and slide the battery out.

5.2 Chain and Guide Bar Assembly (if not pre-installed)
If the chain and guide bar are not pre-installed, follow these steps:
- Ensure the battery is removed for safety.
- Loosen the tool-less tension adjustment knob by turning it counter-clockwise. This will allow the guide plate to move freely.
- Carefully place the chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges are facing the correct direction (refer to markings on the chain).
- Position the guide bar onto the chainsaw body, aligning the chain with the drive sprocket.
- While holding the guide bar and chain in place, tighten the tool-less tension adjustment knob by turning it clockwise until the chain is snug but can still be moved by hand. The chain should not sag from the bottom of the guide bar.
- After initial use, re-check chain tension as new chains can stretch.

5.3 Filling the Automatic Oiler
- Ensure the battery is removed.
- Locate the oil tank cap on the chainsaw body (refer to Image 2).
- Unscrew the cap and fill the tank with universal saw chain oil. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the oil tank cap.
- The automatic oiler will lubricate the chain during operation. Regularly check the oil level through the translucent tank.
6. Operation
6.1 Starting the Chainsaw
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly installed.
- Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
- Press and hold the safety lock button (located on the handle, refer to Image 3).
- While holding the safety lock button, press the start trigger to activate the chainsaw. Release the trigger to stop.
6.2 Adjusting Chain Speed
The chainsaw offers 3 speed settings. While the chainsaw is running, press the speed adjustment button (refer to Image 6) to cycle through the available speeds. Select a lower speed for more torque on thicker branches and a higher speed for faster cutting on lighter material.

6.3 Cutting Techniques
- Always maintain a balanced and stable position.
- Allow the chainsaw to reach full speed before engaging the wood.
- Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the saw through the cut.
- Be aware of falling branches and debris. Plan your cuts to avoid pinching the guide bar.
- For larger branches, make an undercut first to prevent splintering.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your chainsaw.
7.1 Cleaning
- Always remove the battery before cleaning.
- Use the included brush (refer to Image 3) to remove wood chips, sawdust, and debris from the guide bar, chain, and motor housing.
- Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the chainsaw in water.
7.2 Chain Sharpening and Replacement
- A dull chain will reduce cutting efficiency and increase strain on the motor. Sharpen the chain regularly using the provided 5/32" file. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for sharpening angles.
- If the chain is damaged or excessively worn, replace it with a new one. Refer to section 5.2 for chain installation.
8. Troubleshooting
- Chainsaw does not start:
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly installed.
- Confirm that both the safety lock button and the start trigger are pressed simultaneously.
- Chain comes off or is loose:
- Remove the battery.
- Re-install the chain and guide bar, ensuring the chain is correctly seated on the sprocket and guide bar.
- Tighten the tool-less tension adjustment knob firmly until the chain is snug but can still be moved by hand.
- Always check chain tension before and during operation, especially with new chains.
- Chainsaw cuts slowly or poorly:
- The chain may be dull. Sharpen or replace the chain.
- Check chain tension; a loose chain can affect cutting performance.
- Ensure the automatic oiler tank has sufficient oil.
- Battery not charging:
- Verify the charger is properly plugged into a working outlet.
- Ensure the battery is correctly connected to the charger.
- Check for any damage to the battery or charger.
