4. Product Overview

The ZELCAN Sewer Camera system consists of a portable monitor unit, a flexible fiberglass cable, and a waterproof camera head. The monitor provides a clear view of the inspection area and features controls for recording and playback.

5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the charging adapter to the monitor unit and plug it into a power outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 5 hours.

5.2 Inserting the TF Card

The device comes with a 32GB TF card for recording. Ensure it is properly inserted into the designated slot on the monitor unit before operation. If replacing, ensure the device is powered off before inserting or removing the card.

5.3 Attaching the Sunshade

For improved visibility in bright outdoor conditions, attach the provided sunshade to the monitor. Align the sunshade with the grooves on the monitor and slide it into place.

5.4 Selecting Camera Skids/Spacers

Choose the appropriate skid or spacer for the diameter of the pipe you are inspecting. This helps center the camera and protects it from direct contact with pipe walls. Securely attach the chosen accessory to the camera head.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the 'POWER' button on the monitor unit to turn the device on or off.

6.2 Adjusting LED Brightness

Use the 'LED+' and 'LED-' buttons to adjust the brightness of the 12 LED lights on the camera head. There are 5 brightness levels to suit different inspection environments.

6.3 Recording Video and Taking Photos

  • Video Recording: Press the 'REC' button to start recording video. Press it again to stop. The recorded footage will be saved to the TF card.
  • Photo Capture: While in live view or video recording mode, press the 'PHOTO' button to capture a still image.
  • Audio Recording: The built-in microphone allows for audio recording during video inspections.

6.4 Playback

Enter playback mode using the 'MODE' button. Use the navigation buttons to browse through recorded videos and photos. Press 'OK' to play a selected file.

6.5 Performing an Inspection

  1. Slowly feed the camera cable into the pipe.
  2. Monitor the live feed on the 4.3-inch LCD screen.
  3. Use the length markers on the cable to track the camera's depth within the pipe.
  4. Adjust LED brightness as needed for clear visibility.
  5. Record video or capture photos of areas of interest.
  6. Carefully retract the cable after the inspection is complete.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • After each use, clean the camera head and cable with a damp cloth to remove any debris or residue. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Wipe the monitor unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

7.2 Storage

Store the ZELCAN Sewer Camera in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the cable is neatly wound on the reel to prevent kinks or damage.

7.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and recharge every few months.
