4. Operating Instructions

This heater features manual controls for ignition and heat output. No electrical power is required for basic operation.

4.1 Lighting the Heater (Piezo Ignition)

  1. Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
  2. Locate the control knob and the ignitor button on the heater.
  3. Push in and turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the 'PILOT IGN' position.
  4. While holding the control knob in, repeatedly press the ignitor button until the pilot flame ignites. You should see a small blue flame at the pilot burner.
  5. Continue to hold the control knob in for approximately 30-60 seconds after the pilot flame ignites. This allows the thermocouple to heat up and hold the pilot valve open.
  6. Release the control knob. If the pilot flame extinguishes, repeat steps 3-5.
  7. Once the pilot flame is stable, push in and turn the control knob counter-clockwise to your desired heat setting (LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH). The main burner will ignite.

4.2 Adjusting Heat Output

To adjust the heat output, simply push in and turn the control knob to one of the three settings: LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH. The heater will adjust its flame intensity accordingly.

4.3 Turning Off the Heater

To turn off the heater, push in and turn the control knob clockwise to the 'OFF' position. Ensure the main burner and pilot flame are extinguished. For extended periods of non-use, also close the main gas supply valve.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the safe and efficient operation of your heater. Always disconnect the gas supply and allow the heater to cool completely before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior surfaces of the heater with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Burner and Pilot Area: Keep the burner ports and pilot assembly clean and free of dust, lint, or debris. A soft brush or vacuum cleaner can be used. Blocked ports can affect performance and safety.
  • Annual Inspection: It is recommended to have the heater inspected annually by a qualified service technician to ensure all components are functioning correctly and safely.
  • Do not paint any part of the heater.
