Setup

1. Inserting the SIM Card and Battery

1. Carefully remove the back cover of the phone.
2. If the battery is already installed, remove it.
3. Insert the SIM card(s) into the designated slot(s) with the gold contacts facing down. The TCL Onetouch 4042S supports Dual SIM.
4. Insert the battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
5. Replace the back cover until it clicks into place.

2. Charging the Battery

• Connect the power adapter to the charging port on your phone.
• Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
• Allow the phone to charge fully before first use. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.

3. Powering On/Off

• To power on, press and hold the Power/End Call button until the screen lights up.
• To power off, press and hold the Power/End Call button, then select "Power off" from the options.

Operating Instructions

Making Calls

1. From the idle screen, enter the phone number using the numeric keypad.
2. Press the Green Call button to initiate the call.
3. To end a call, press the Red End Call button.

Sending Messages

1. Navigate to the "Messages" menu.
2. Select "New Message" or "Create Message".
3. Enter the recipient's phone number or select from contacts.
4. Type your message using the keypad.
5. Press "Send".

Using the SOS Button

The dedicated SOS button is designed for emergencies. When pressed and held, it will automatically dial pre-set emergency contacts and/or send emergency messages.

• To set up SOS contacts: Go to Settings > SOS Settings and add up to 5 emergency contacts.
• In an emergency, press and hold the SOS button on the back of the phone for several seconds.
• The phone will automatically call the emergency contacts in sequence until one answers.
• An emergency message will also be sent to the pre-set contacts.

Mobile Hotspot Function

The TCL Onetouch 4042S can share its 4G internet connection with other devices via its mobile hotspot feature.

1. Navigate to Settings > Network & Connectivity > Hotspot.
2. Enable the Hotspot function.
3. You can configure the network name (SSID) and password for your hotspot.
4. Other devices can now connect to your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot using the configured credentials.
