Installation Guide (Setup)

The SMARTSTANDARD Bifold Barn Door is designed for straightforward installation. The door panels are finished products, requiring no complex assembly. Installation can be completed in approximately 30 minutes with two people.

Pre-Installation Checks:

• Door Opening Size: For a 36" wide door, the maximum door opening size should be 34". The door width should be the door opening size + 2".
• Ceiling Clearance: Ensure at least 6" of clearance is available from the top of the door opening to the ceiling for track installation.
• Wall Support: Confirm the wall above the door opening is structurally sound to support the track and door weight. Install a header board if necessary.

Step-by-Step Installation:

1. Mark the Center Line: Identify and mark the center line for the track installation above your door opening. Ensure it is level.
2. Install the Bottom Jamb Bracket: Secure the bottom pivot plate and sleeve to the floor according to the measurements provided in the manual. Precision is crucial for proper door alignment.
3. Install Hinges: Attach the bi-fold door butt hinges to connect the two door panels.
4. Install Hangers: Mount the pulley bases and pulleys (hangers) to the top edge of the door panels.
5. Hang the Door: Carefully lift and hang the assembled door panels onto the track, ensuring the bottom pivot engages with the floor bracket. A rubber mallet may be useful for seating the wheels onto the track.
6. Install Handle: Attach the handle to the door panel at a comfortable height.

Note: The door pivot can be installed on either the left or right side of the door opening, depending on your preference for door folding direction.

Operation

The SMARTSTANDARD Bifold Barn Door operates by sliding along a top track and pivoting from a bottom bracket. The bifold design allows the door to fold neatly, saving up to 50% more space compared to traditional sliding barn doors.

• To open the door, gently push or pull the handle, allowing the panels to fold and slide along the track.
• To close the door, guide the panels back into position until they are fully extended and aligned.
• The pulley system allows for 360° free rotation of the door panels as they move along the track.
