5. Setup Guide
5.1. Preparation
- Unpack the case and place it on a stable, flat surface.
- Remove the tempered glass side panel by unscrewing the captive thumbscrews at the rear and gently pulling the panel away.
- Remove the steel side panel and front panel to gain full access to the interior.
5.2. Motherboard Installation
- Install the I/O shield (if applicable) into the motherboard tray cutout.
- Align your ATX motherboard with the standoffs in the case. Ensure all standoffs match the motherboard's screw holes.
- Secure the motherboard with the provided screws.
5.3. Power Supply Installation
- Slide your power supply unit (PSU) into the PSU shroud at the bottom rear of the case.
- Secure the PSU to the case using the provided screws from the rear.
5.4. Storage Drive Installation
- 2.5" SSDs: Mount SSDs to the dedicated trays behind the motherboard tray.
- 3.5" HDDs: Install HDDs into the drive cage located beneath the PSU shroud.
5.5. Graphics Card (GPU) Installation
- Remove the necessary PCIe slot covers from the rear of the case.
- Insert your graphics card into the appropriate PCIe slot on the motherboard and secure it with screws.
- Utilize the included GPU Anti-Sag Stabilization Arm to support heavier graphics cards and prevent sagging.
5.6. Cooling System Installation (Fans & Radiators)
- Fans: Use the InfiniRail system to mount fans in the front and roof. Slide the fan mounts along the rails to your desired position and secure them.
- Radiators: Install radiators in the front, roof, or side mounting locations as needed. Ensure proper fan orientation for optimal airflow (intake or exhaust).
5.7. Cable Management
Route all power and data cables through the designated cutouts and channels behind the motherboard tray. Use the included cable ties to secure cables and maintain a clean interior for improved airflow.
5.8. Front Panel Connections
Connect the front I/O panel cables (USB, audio, power, reset) to their corresponding headers on your motherboard. Refer to your motherboard manual for specific header locations.
6. Operation
Once all components are installed and secured, and all cables are connected, you can power on your system. Press the power button on the front I/O panel. Monitor your system's temperatures to ensure optimal cooling performance, especially during initial setup and under load.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and performance of your PC case and components.
- Dust Filters: The CORSAIR 4000D Frame includes removable dust filters on the front, top, and bottom. Clean these filters regularly (e.g., monthly) by gently rinsing them with water and allowing them to air dry completely before reinstallation.
- Case Interior: Periodically use compressed air to remove dust buildup from internal components and fan blades.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your CORSAIR 4000D Frame, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power when pressing power button | Front panel power switch not connected; PSU not connected or faulty. | Ensure front panel power switch cable is correctly connected to motherboard. Verify PSU connections and functionality. |
| Poor airflow or high temperatures | Dust filters clogged; incorrect fan orientation; insufficient fans. | Clean dust filters. Check fan direction (intake/exhaust). Consider adding more fans or optimizing their placement. |
| Fans not spinning or RGB not working | Fan cables not connected; RGB controller not connected or configured. | Verify all fan power and RGB cables are securely connected to the motherboard or controller. Check software configuration for RGB. |
